Former Dallas Cowboys star and Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith has listed his Far North Dallas mansion for sale. The home, custom-built by Smith in 1995, features five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and four half-baths, and barrel-vaulted ceilings in the master area. The 10,806 square-foot home is being listed by Douglas Elliman Real Estate of Texas for $2.2 million.

The home offers separate master living quarters, each with a grand bath. The listing states that the master suite includes “its own open sitting area, steam room, jacuzzi bath, his and hers toilets, three huge closets, and a multi-jet shower system,” the listing reads.

Smith, who famously wore #22, which the Cowboys refuse to designate to any player but have not retired officially, says the asking price is a nod to his days playing football in Dallas. He built the home to entertain and family life in mind.

“One of my favorite aspects of the home is that it’s perfect for entertaining. With a large dining room table that fits twenty-two people, a media room, and a large game room, this home is ready for the new owners to create their own memories with both friends and loved ones,” Smith said to the agents handling the sale.

Far North Dallas is a region known for sprawling lawns, golf courses, and “a more suburban lifestyle,” according to D Magazine. The area offers residents quick and easy access to Downtown Dallas, along with excellent school districts and nightlife.

The house is located at 15001 Winnwood Rd. and sits adjacent to Winnwood Park. A private gate allows residents to access the park from the tree-lined property. The large backyard includes a swimming pool, while a hiking trail is located at nearby White Rock Creek. The driveway enters and exits on lightly-traveled Winnwood Rd. and gives access to the home’s four-car garage.

Smith has promised an added benefit to the buyer of his Cowboys-era home: Smith said he would have a private dinner with the new owners. Smith did not say whether he would be doing the cooking.

The home is listed by Arthur Greenstein, an agent with Douglas Elliman. Greenstein says the property is “priced aggressively, for a home of this stature.” Homes in the area have a median value of $431,000, with several listings hitting more than $3 million.
