A new apartment complex, ‘The Hills of Lancaster,’ is set to break ground on February 24, 2025, in east Fort Worth.

The $3.2 million project, spanning 11,200 square feet, is part of an effort to rejuvenate an area that has seen limited housing development over the past few decades.

Located at 5220 E. Lancaster Ave., the project will transform a vacant, wooded site into a 24-unit housing complex, per the Fort Worth Report. This marks the first project in Fort Worth by Dallas-based Psalm Development and Construction LLC.

The development will feature two 12-unit apartment buildings, offering much-needed housing in a neighborhood that has struggled to attract new projects.

Despite Fort Worth’s booming real estate market in other areas, east Fort Worth has remained relatively stagnant. Bill Kitchens, director of market analytics at CoStar Group, previously noted the area’s challenges, including a lack of economic anchors like entertainment districts or high-profile retail centers. This new complex aims to address some of these issues by enhancing residential opportunities.

Construction of The Hills of Lancaster is expected to take approximately one year, with completion scheduled for late February 2026.

TK Jacobs, a founder of Psalm Development and Construction, emphasized the importance of the project for the community.

“This is our first project in Fort Worth, and we hope it will serve as an asset to the neighborhood,” he said.

Jacobs noted the significance of the effort, stating, “There hasn’t been much new construction in this area. We wanted to step in and make a difference.”
