A traditional cottage-style home in University Park is going for $3.5 million, and Allie Beth Allman’s Chad Barrett has the listing.
As Dallas area residents know, University Park is an affluent municipality located just north of Highland Park. It is known for its beautiful homes, well-performing schools, and proximity to Southern Methodist University. It offers a blend of small-town charm and urban convenience, with upscale shopping, dining, and easy access to Dallas. The area is highly sought-after for families.
The house is located at 3212 Greenbrier Dr. Here is some of what CandysDirt reported on the listing:
Beyond price and location, when we look for a home, we’re all looking for inspiration. There are no two people more qualified to bring us inspiration than Regan Carlile and Chad Dorsey. And boy, have they brought it to us with this two-story traditional University Park Cape Cod Cottage.
The 4,060-square-foot home, built in 1940, was originally white with contrasting shutters and very traditional. It presented the perfect canvas for Carlile and Dorsey. Dorsey’s More Design + Build team had already collaborated on three of Carlile’s former homes, so there was a well-established synergy in reimagining a new era for this traditional house. They took the walls down to the studs and let their creativity loose.
Carlile and Dorsey are not afraid of color and while the house is colorful, take another look. Sure, the exterior of the house was coated in Benjamin Moore’s Black Jack, which adds a substantial level of drama. But, Vanilla Milkshake, also from Benjamin Moore, is the overriding color inside. It’s Carlile’s eclectic and colorful design style that adds the punch. Well, and a black study!
