Remember when I was at Vintage Martini and I held up colors to Shanon, and I was like, Shanon, I think this one right here is my color palette. But I still haven't done a thorough color analysis, and I'm going to be doing that on one of the upcoming shows. This is the start of it. In this episode, you're gonna see me just casually sit with the twins, Liliana and Louis, our oldest two of our four, because I always do a thorough spring cleaning. And I began planning all of the upcoming sales that are coming up in May, which is why now is a perfect time to air this, to plan for all of the different new summer items that I'm gonna be integrating into their closets. And as you conversations that I have with Liliana, I tend to buy colors that I love. And I I have an idea of what colors look good on me. I believed that this was a color that looked good on me. And based on the analysis that I've just received from that app with the kids, it said that I was a cool winter. And I think these are cool winter colors. I'll actually show you in just a few minutes some comparisons of what that looks like on my phone and what I'm actually wearing. But it's because I like to plan ahead and it's just been on my to do list for a really long time for myself and the kids. I hope you enjoy it. It's something super fun, very casual, and welcome to my home.

So we are here to do a color analysis because in about two or three weeks, I forget the exact day, Shannon knows, May 14 or something. We're doing a real in person color analysis with House of Colour. Her name is Ginny, and it's here in Dallas, and that's when they actually drape different fabrics, different colors of clothes over you. Lewis has no idea what a color analysis is. I just told him that I needed him, reason being, is because I know that for myself I tend to impulse buy colors that I love, and I love bright colors. But I think I am a winter color palette.
02:06
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
And since we're going to be doing some spring cleaning in the next week or two, I want to make sure that whenever I start purchasing all of these different things for these two, along with myself, that I actually have a good understanding about what I should be buying and not impulse buying. Lily loves really bright colors. She loves yellows. But I don't think yellows I don't like yellow. You would you always you love the color yellow, and you always used to try and dress in yellow.
02:38
Liliana
Right now, always do blue and white. Those are my colors right now.
02:42
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Blue and white.
02:43
Liliana
Blue and white. I love blue. I just Go with any color my mom gives me. Yeah. Or let it pick out.
02:49
Louis
Anything that's comfy, I'll just it's because we can pick...
02:52
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Whenever you're older, you're gonna appreciate So I'm gonna pull up Chat GPT, and you guys are gonna help me figure out the one that we're gonna download today to use. So there's a ColorWise app, which is quick, free color season diagnosis. It's fast and simple. Just upload a selfie. Gives you your seasonal color type, either soft autumn or cool summer. Shows color palettes and even makeup suggestions. It's completely free. And it says, the interface is a bit basic. It's less in-depth customization, not always accurate with poorly lit photos. Which is the case right now. The reason we're here, or I'm here, with no makeup, and my hair is still wet, is because whenever you have an actual professional do your color analysis, they tell you to not go with any makeup. So so here we are. The next app is My Best Colors by Colorwise. So this one gives seasonal color palettes and wardrobe guidance. Or should I do Style DNA? That one's a comprehensive style, color, and body shape analysis. Uses AI to analyze color season and body shape. Recommends necklines, silhouettes, patterns, and color combos. Offers wardrobe planning and digital closet tools. Very sleek modern interface.

Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Before we get started, I'm actually just going to take a selfie with Chat GPT. Let me stand like right by the window with this fading light. And I'm gonna ask it, what color palette? What color One, two, three, test palettes. No.
04:27
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
No. What color
04:28
Louis
One, test it.
04:29
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
And stop.
04:30
Louis
Sorry.
04:31
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
When you do that I don't know if that's I'm saying, cut you you cancel me.
04:36
Louis
Oh. Okay. Sorry. I didn't know.
04:40
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Oh my gosh! So she can hear you talking over me.
04:44
Louis
You can?
04:45
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Yeah. Like a creep. No. I got it. What color analysis, or what color what season?
04:54
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
That's what it is. What? No. What season do you say that I am? And then contrast.
05:02
Liliana
I think you're winter.
05:03
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
What season do you say that I am? Let's see what ChatGPT says. Skin tone appears neutral to cool. There's a soft rosiness without pronounced yellow or golden undertones. Hair deep rich brown, natural contrast against your skin. Cool winter or possibly cool summer. Okay. Cool winter types look best in jewel tones. True red, emerald, cobalt, icy pinks, and crisp, black, and white. The contrast between your hair and skin supports this. If you find muted pastels or warm earth tones wash you out, make you look tired, that's further confirmation. Okay.
05:39
Liliana
Can you do me?
05:40
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
But here's the thing. I hate myself in pure white.
05:45
Liliana
I love myself in pure white.
05:47
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Okay. So we're gonna do this app. The one that I just downloaded. Right?
05:50
Liliana
Can I try Chat GPT?
05:52
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Yes. We will do all of us.
05:56
Liliana
I don't really care if I'm in pure white.
05:58
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Did we say My Best Colors? That one. One. Colors. App. My best colors. Look. My best colors open.
06:09
Liliana
That looks so good.
06:10
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
That's right. Your color type. Let's go. Unlock all features. Premium is $12.99. Unlock VIP access, Shanon, for $12.99. We're going do it. Identifies 12 color types, each paired with specific complementary tones, shades, and tints. Find your type below. Cool winter, deep winter, clear winter, cool summer.
06:34
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Stop. Select my color type. I think I'm just going to choose cool winter because that's what ChatGPT said. Create your personal color analysis kit today with our embedded camera. Oh. Oh, here we go. Oh, really? Color analysis camera. Experiment with various colors to discover the ones that suit you best. Our specialized camera will illuminate your face with different shades, producing photos that mimic the effects of an in person color draping session. Skip the makeup, jewelry, glasses, colored contacts with the most accurate results. That's why I'm like this. Find a place with soft, natural indirect light. Avoid fluorescent or yellow tone lighting or direct sunlight. Okay.
07:15
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Open camera. Allow. Okay. I'm really hoping that it works. Deep winter, deep autumn. It's not that one. Cool winter.
07:44
Liliana
I like cool winter.
07:46
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Cool summer. Clear winter, clear spring. I'm not clear spring.
07:52
Liliana
Mm-mm.
07:53
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I am not light spring. I am not light summer. I'm not soft summer or soft autumn. No. Maybe warm.
08:01
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Yeah. These don't look that bad.
08:03
Liliana
Maybe warm autumn. Because sometimes like you like warm
08:06
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
autumn, warm spring. My goodness.
08:10
Liliana
I feel like the top. Not the top. This one cool winter.
08:13
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Me too. So chat GPT was right. Don't you think?
08:18
Louis
Never doubt ChatGPT.
08:21
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
It's this one. So yeah, think that's it. Right? Now me, right? Now you.
08:27
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Yes. Yeah. Okay. So let's go back. About time. Feeling uncertain. Okay. So let's see what they said about Lily.
08:39
Liliana
Okay. Deep winter.
08:41
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I would say no to deep winter. Not no. What do say, Louis? Autumn.
08:45
Louis
I don't know. I don't pay attention.
08:47
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
What do you mean you don't pay attention? It's just
08:50
Liliana
Maybe cool summer. I mean, cool summer goes, I feel like.
08:53
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Do you think cool summer
08:54
Liliana
I'm serious. Just my lips pop out. But, I mean, cool summer does go. I feel like do you think cool summer?
09:03
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I think this is why professional helps. But I think close-up. If you had to look at actually pick for you. It doesn't pick for you. That's what's crazy. Like, you have to pick. So based on this, what would you pick? Look at these, Lily. The light spring and the light summer. Come here. So you see your light blue, your light summer? I don't think this color palette's you.
09:29
Liliana
I think.
09:30
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Yeah. And these are the blues that you're wearing. I swear. That's why I wanted you to see this. I think That and the darker one.
09:38
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Uh-huh.
09:38
Liliana
Like that dark blue.
09:40
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Cool summer, Shanon. And then let's go down. So this is what she's been wearing. She's been wearing a lot of light summer, like this blue shirt on her.
09:49
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Everything that she chooses is this. It used to be that, that light spring right there. None of these. Right? No.
09:57
Louis
I don't know. Why are you asking me? Why do you keep asking me? I don't know.
10:02
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I thought you would.
10:03
Louis
You think I would know?
10:05
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Shanon, what would you go with? Cool summer?
10:09
Louis
I think cool summer. Just based off my knowledge, I'd go I mean, I don't have much knowledge.
10:15
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Okay. We're going with cool summer for Lily. But make sure you just get it right.
10:20
Louis
How about my contacts? Baby, if they're you don't have colored contacts.
10:26
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
My goodness.
10:28
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Let let Louis do it. I'm looking wait. My poor son. I know. The fact that he humors me to do this, I was like, if you're gonna have any clothes, then okay.
10:43
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Let's this is okay. Wait. Color palettes. Okay, Shanon. Tell me what you think.
10:52
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Goodness. Even I don't know. He's not in it. He's not in it. Deep winter.
11:01
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Deep autumn? Hold on. Wait. No. No.
11:03
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Cool winter.
11:04
Louis
I feel like cool summer. Cool summer. I like cool summer too. I'll wear anything. Light spring.
11:14
Liliana
I like light spring.
11:15
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Do tan people just look better in all colors? Damn it.
11:21
Liliana
Light spring.
11:21
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I think you look good in all colors. You like light spring?
11:27
Louis
I I like light summer.
11:30
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I swear. I think you look good in all of them.
11:33
Liliana
I like soft autumn.
11:37
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I'm checking. Hold on. So I would say the deep winter is like your least your least No. Complimentary. Like cool summer too.
11:49
Liliana
Yeah. I think it goes. No.
11:50
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
No. I like cool summer.
11:52
Liliana
No. It goes. No. It doesn't. Just like me.
11:55
Liliana
It doesn't go.
11:56
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
No. I like wow. Okay. Yeah.
12:06
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Hey. So I'm back in Lily's room. I am going into her closet because and I'm also wearing one of my colors or some of my colors from the color analysis because I'm going to show you a little bit about what I mean regarding redoing their closets. Whew. Okay.
12:28
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Here it is. This is her closet. And as you can see, I'm on my knees. But there are many colors in Liliana's closet that did not fall within her respective color palette. Liliana's color analysis came out to be cool summer, which is what I have here on my phone right now. As you can see, it's really tough whenever it just gives these basic colors. So what's very helpful, and again we did not use a professional to determine what was most suiting or complementary. We literally just used our own opinions and eyes. And again, I look forward to knowing what my color analysis with a true professional reveals. Because in this particular app, you can contact a professional to gain insight as to whether or not what you determine or what you think is correct. So I'm going to be doing that with one or both of the twins. So in this app, whenever I go to cool summer, it shows you best colors. It says best colors, cool summer, classic summer. It gives you an array of colors to sort from. And what's interesting is that whenever I look at this little outfit here, right?
13:48
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
It's it's close enough to some of these. But again, I think it's close enough. Whenever I come through here and clear out their closets or the things that don't work this upcoming summer. I really want to make sure that anything that I buy falls within these best colors for my little girl. A few things that I'm sure I'm going to find. This. This right here. I do not believe that this shade of green is located anywhere on this, but the blue is. So what I'm going to have to ask the color professional is what has to be the predominant color. And how am I, whenever I'm shopping, able to sit and select the color of green most appropriately.
14:41
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Because I just don't know. I mean I trust my eyes. But for me this shade of green is not something that's really gonna flatter her. So these are just some examples. If I move over let's say this this could possibly work because it's a cool summer classic summer color that apparently will flatter her.
14:59
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I'm just going to a little a few oh this one. I guess that works enough. Right? It's kind of but here's my question. You heard her say that she enjoys wearing a lot of whites.
15:12
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Okay. This right here, this is a soft white. So I want to be able to train my eyes as best as I possibly can whenever I am looking at things. Of course, like sometimes you just can't help it. Like okay, Spartan athletics like this is this is a brilliant white.
15:31
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Your whole closet can't you know can't accommodate your color palette. But this right here, this does not seem like a brilliant white to me. Okay. So I'm not sure if the lighting is good enough in here and you're able to tell. But these are just some examples of how I'm going to be able to now curate the appropriate items coming this summer.
15:57
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Let's go over to my son's room or his closet and then I'm gonna show you some of the sales that I'm looking forward to in May. Let's go. So this is Louis's room. He loves hats too much. But now we're gonna get set up in here to and again his closets not none of the boys have a closet like Lily does.
16:18
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
That's actually why she has that room. But we're still gonna go through it and see what just type of basics I can pull out or maybe add in that may be helpful for summer shopping. So now on this phone, which you'll be able to see, I have the two options that we were not able to decide from for Louis. So again, he has tan skin.
16:42
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I think the picture is not as clear as it could have been. So I'm actually thinking that for both of these kids, I'm going to contact whatever type of professional they have access to. And see if I need to do a retake of a photo, get different lighting, all those things. Because I love light spring, but I also kinda like cool summer.
17:02
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
So for now, let's just go with light spring. But here's here's the problem. As you can see on this app, the people that they show who are Light Spring seem to be like they're more fair. Right? And so Yeah.
17:21
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I don't know what that means because his other palette, Cool Summer, I think Lily liked that one more. See, that doesn't even really so much look like his skin. Not at all.
17:32
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Right? So that's what I'm saying. I think the lighting was off. I think warm autumn looks more like him. Their coloring is rich and saturated than you Yeah.
17:46
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
So if I were just going based off of this, would be in the warm autumn space for him I think. But let's just go with what we chose which was Light Spring. And again, I think I'm gonna just have to give it another go with the guidance of a professional because I just don't trust myself enough. Where did I say light spring? Mhmm.
18:04
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
So let's say best colors. So this is actually a robust assortment of colors to choose from. As you can see, his closet is very much a boy closet, just a lot fewer clothes. He has stuff in his drawers as well. I'm just gonna pull so much of this is school stuff.
18:26
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
This yellow shirt. Okay. So we're just gonna come here. Okay. To the yellows.
18:31
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
I love this color on him. So the colors actually now appear much clearer to me. And again, the lighting in here is yellow. So that's the thing. We're going to have to ask these professionals a color.
18:47
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Or we're to ask Chad GPT a color a question about when you're shopping, under what light do you need to inspect these colors against these? Because of course, as you know, it skews everything. So this is just one example. But I think that this shirt is a keeper. See I don't see anything here in the oh, but the pinks.
19:12
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
He likes this color. He loves wearing these types of colors. But again, I'm just going to keep it because it's navy. I mean, like what boy doesn't look good in navy? Again, it's not his color palette according to this.
19:27
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
But maybe it is. I think those two See, again, back to the situation in Lily's closet. What has to be the predominant color when it's fiftyfifty? Right? Fiftyfifty here.
19:46
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Which one are you leaning into? Because you don't really know. So this one would be a no go. But again, he's tan, so kinda looks good and everything. So that's all I got for today.
20:01
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Now I'm just gonna move over to my computer so that you can see a lot of the places that I look forward to shopping in in May whenever the sales hit, is why we're recording this now. So my main inspiration for wanting to even do this whole color analysis piece at this point in time is because like I said earlier, there's a ton of awesome sales that always happen in May, and I basically planned the spring cleaning. I've already moved a bunch of the clothes that don't fit the kids, and I'm gonna start purchasing a whole bunch of new essentials, if you will, because there's awesome sales coming. And I'm gonna sit here and I'm gonna ask ChatGPT something. Here's an updated list of upcoming and ongoing sales for retailers you mentioned including Vineyard Vines as of 05/02/2025.
20:50
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
So you can see through here, Nordstrom anniversary sale, that's in July. Nordstrom Rack, that's where we normally go, is May 22 through the twenty sixth. Gap, that's one of my favorites. In style insider sale ends May 3. See and then it actually gives you the promo code, which you're probably able to see on the screen.
21:12
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Athleta online promotion 10% of off sale purchases until May 5. So this is and it has all of the information here. Lululemon, we made too much section, ongoing deals. Oh, yeah. The membership madness event already passed.
21:27
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
Zara expected to begin late May or June. And then what I have my assistant do is send me an ongoing calendar of sales that are upcoming because I'm psycho whenever it comes to saving money. We have four kids. You're only seeing the oldest two, Lily and Louis. You so this is important, at least for me.
21:51
Sarah Zubiate Bennett
So Nike, expected May 15 through the nineteenth. Here's all the information pertaining to it. Okay. So she sent me this Hannah Anderson forty percent off. Molo up to 50% off. My son loves that brand. And again, it's just super fun. Gap Cyber sale is 60% off. So there you have it.
