As the largest Republican county in America, Tarrant County has been a top target for Democrats seeking to turn Texas blue. However, thanks to Donald Trump, the Tarrant County Republican Party, and hundreds of conservative activists just won their largest victory in years.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump and JD Vance won Tarrant County by over 5 percent —a landmark victory considering that he lost Tarrant by 0.2 percent in 2020. Tarrant County voters also delivered big wins to all of the Republican judicial candidates on their ballot, contributing to the electoral victories of three new Court of Criminal Appeals judges, all of whom defeated more liberal incumbents in the primary elections.

The top race in the county was the re-election of Republican Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn who faced a strong challenge from Democrat Patrick Moses. It was in this race that the Tarrant County Republican Party Chairman Bo French and the county party engaged the most heavily, spending hundreds of thousands on mail and social media advertising highlighting the danger to public safety that would come through Democrat policies.

And it paid off. Waybourn won Tarrant County by roughly 8 points.

But Republicans weren’t done winning yet. They also flipped Constable Precinct 2 red after losing it in 2020 by less than 1500 votes and returning Constable David Woodruff to office.

When polls closed on election night, Republican Party won every county-wide election in the county except for the Cruz-Allred race for the U.S. Senate. But even there, Tarrant significantly outperformed for Cruz.

While Donald Trump carried Texas by roughly 14 points, Cruz won the state by 8.6 percent. In Tarrant County, Trump won by 5.2 percent and Cruz fell short by .05 percent or 1,251 votes out of 819,006.

Ultimately, Tarrant County voters chose Republicans because they supported Donald Trump’s America First, pro-law and order agenda. The election is a mandate for lawmakers to deliver safe streets, an economy that puts workers first, and a foreign policy framework that prioritizes citizens and their interests over foreign nationals.

Our voters want lawmakers who will Make America Great Again. Now it’s time for the Republicans they put in office to deliver.
