Opinion: Texas Latino Conservatives

We at TEXAS LATINO CONSERVATIVES want to introduce ourselves to the readers of the Dallas Express.

TLC believes there has been an ongoing effort by much of the media, reflecting the views of the Left, to indoctrinate the Hispanic community with lies about the role that government should play in their lives and enrage with hot-button issues such as immigration.   While there are many Hispanic-Americans that have fled other countries to come to the U.S. to escape poverty and oppression under mostly socialist or communist countries, others are now second and even third generation Americans and have never lived under these oppressive regimes. Having not experienced life in places such as Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela they may not recognize how we, the United States, are moving in that direction.  We at TLC are not going to sit by and allow this to happen.

Through our 501c4 non-profit, TLC works in the community to understand the needs of Texas Latinos and brings resources to address these needs. We are in the community providing medical professionals to educate families on how to address obesity and type 2 Diabetes, holding Tejano music concerts to celebrate the culture, and working with the State Legislature on policies that best reflect our conservative values.  We are also committed to educating Latinos on the importance of getting involved in the political process.  Through Leadership Latino, TLC holds seminars across Texas to train Latinos on the best ways to become involved through volunteering, running for office, or a career in politics.  Our curriculum includes classes on the mechanics of the party structure, training on how to make a living as a political professional, and advanced classes that prepare Republican nominees for November, all of which enables us to build a farm team of seasoned Latinos ready to step up and lead.

It is the job of TLC’s PAC to identify the conservative candidates we believe best represent our values and help them get elected.   We have a team of political professionals and field directors across Texas identifying races from local to statewide that could benefit from our help and we jump in to message to our constituents.  We had a very successful 2020 election cycle and intend to build on that success in 2022.

We are proud to say that we played a part in Mayra Flores’ recent victory to become the first Mexican-born American citizen to win a seat in the U.S. Congress, flipping a district that Hillary Clinton won in 2016 by more than 30 percent. Congresswoman Flores attended our Leadership Latino class in the Rio Grande Valley in 2019 and is a powerful example of what can happen when you stand up and share your values.

We challenge you to do the same, stand up and share your values!

Sounds like this organization is on the right track to turn America back in the right direction. I hope it does well and grows in influence in all communities.

I think it’s great to educate voters and teach civics, but I think trying to manufacture candidates because they have some desired racial make up is a terrible idea.

Do we really want to teach people how to make money in politics. That’s what’s wrong with our country.

    “obesity and type 2 Diabetes”

It would be nice if someone could pressure the state school districts to open up their locked up newer artificial turf practice fields (and surrounding track) for kids to use off hours.

The few fields that ARE open are constantly filled with kids playing soccer, flag football, etc.

The main wear-and-tear on those fields is not people, it’s the June-August heat which deteriorates the surface regardless of use.

Makes no sense unless you are yet another government bureaucrat turning an indifferent eye toward the public well-being.
