Collin County faces an exciting election season after multiple mediocre Texas legislative sessions this year. In addition to the main legislative session in the spring, Governor Abbott called for four special sessions, attempting to get his priorities passed, including border security and parental empowerment in education. It’s clear that Texans need new leadership in order to make their voices heard and get their representatives to work for them.
Residents of Collin County’s House District 61 (McKinney, Frisco, and Anna) especially need new leadership. Their current representative, Frederick Frazier, has been dishonorably discharged from the Dallas Police Department after pleading “no contest” and “guilty” to multiple misdemeanor charges (originally felonies) over issues of impersonating a public servant and stealing campaign signs during the 2022 primary. Constituents deserve better. HD61 is ready for a strong conservative candidate who has integrity and is willing to fight for Texans and their priorities.
Keresa Richardson is just such a candidate.
Keresa comes from a long line of Texans, including her great-grandmother who was born in McKinney. Keresa and her husband, J.R., have raised three children and are grandparents to five, including two Marines, and have been successful business owners for over forty years. Keresa is a spunky fighter and she understands the challenges required to do a job well. She and her husband tirelessly serve in multiple local charitable institutions and are long-time members at Cottonwood Creek Church. Ever since she was a girl Keresa loved politics – she was told by her first grade teacher she would be President one day! Since graduating from Texas A&M with a political science degree she has been involved in politics, supporting conservative, common-sense candidates and causes, always seeking to put Texans and Collin County first. When asked why she’s running for office this time Keresa said, “If I felt like someone else could do this, I would support them. We are called to do the right thing. We have many servant leaders throughout the community – when you run for office you are supposed to be a servant of the people. I just want our local and state and federal government to get back to having a heart for the people and doing the right things.”
Keresa is a common-sense conservative, and she will fight for traditional family values, lower taxes, border control, election integrity, and parental empowerment in education. She will also protect and promote Texas’s valuable resources of oil and gas to bring lower prices to everyday families. She is concerned that the Texas House is listening to special interest groups and out-of-state lobbyists rather than the average Texan and quipped, “Who better to drain the swamp than a plumber’s wife?” Like any native Texan she is prepared to fight for Texas values and for the future for our children.
No stranger to hard work, Keresa will use her resilience and compassion to serve Texans in Collin County and across the state. She says, “I am going to fight. We don’t have another election cycle to wait – we must take back our state now. I’m going down to Austin with new people, new blood.” She is not worried about receiving the fancy invitations to elite Austin cocktail parties, but is rather looking forward for the opportunity to work with other like-minded common sense representatives to serve the people of Texas.
“Texans fight!” is Keresa’s motto, and she certainly is the best candidate for House District 61 to fight for Texas values.
