Dallas Police Department said a fight broke out that resulted in a fatal shooting at the Dallas Cabaret South strip club, located in the 2400 block of Walnut Ridge Street near Interstate I-35E.

Police Chief Eddie García said that around 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, “chaos” broke out after a confrontation between several individuals at the club.

According to officers, the fight began inside the club and eventually moved outdoors after security removed those involved from the premises.

García described the incident as beginning with one person firing shots into the air, causing another individual in the parking lot to pull out his gun. The first person reacted by shooting toward the second person.

As a result, the security guard shot and killed the first person.

Garcia said, “A life was lost. Lives were in danger. Certainly lives will be changed by this.”

The victim’s identity has not been revealed, and no further information is available.

An investigation is underway.

City of Dallas officials are currently working towards restricting strip club hours to help reduce crime in the city.
