Theodore Eric Arnold

Ted Arnold was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, the fourth child of Nancy and Ken Arnold. He later relocated to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and then to Dallas, Texas. For most of his adult life he resided in Austin, Texas, a place he loved and flourished in, where he met the love of his life, Christine and his most cherished daughter, Brianna. They recently relocated to Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife, Christine Medina-Arnold, daughter Brianna Medina-Arnold, mother Nancy Vance Arnold, father Kenneth V. Arnold III., brothers Kenneth IV and Gregory, and sisters Leigh Anne, Heather, and Kennah. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. In his youth, Ted played football and was a BMX racer. He loved cycling and continued competing while also working in the industry for many years. After relocating to Austin, he hosted and was the announcer for several cycling races, as well as participating in many professional races. For seven years, Ted worked with a Pro Cycling team while attending the Tour de France where he earned the nickname “Captain Tex” from the French media for his larger-than-life personality and Texas-themed attire. Throughout his career, he developed many friendships within the cycling community including celebrities and other professionals in the industry. His accomplishments and hobbies include journalism, woodworking, fishing, cycling, running, and spending time with his family. Ted had an incredible wit and a contagious sense of humor. He was blessed with extraordinary talent and was a genuinely kind person with a warm disposition. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
