OBITUARY
Mrs. Dolores W Taylor
JANUARY 30, 1920 – JUNE 25, 2021
Dolores Taylor passed away at age 101. Dolores worked in downtown Dallas till early 1980s. She worked for a sewing manufacturing company. She was a very hard working and loyal employee. Growing up in the depression years she worked hard for every cent and she was very proud of that. When she retired she had zero absentees. That was not in one year that was in the total number of years that she worked for that company which was many many years. Snow could not even keep her home. On Friday afternoons her daughter and us grandkids would meet her at the bus stop and surprise her. The look on her face was priceless. It just lit up with happiness. From there we would “ go across the river“ as grandma would call it (which meant she’s going to get a case of beer) and then go to the grocery store. Then we would either go back to her daughter’s house on Doyle Lane for the weekend or go back to her house and us grandkids would spend the night and watch wrestling on TV and eat popcorn. Those were definitely the good times. This was a every weekend thing for us. Dolores like to spend her summer vacations with both her kids, her sister-in-law Leona Carter “Mae-Mae” and all of her grandkids at Galveston Beach if possible. Dolores was known by all as “Grandma”. Even her grandkids friends would address her as Grandma. She would always say to each and everyone of us I L O V E Y O U
And she meant every word.
Dolores made us promise that when she passed – Don’t be sad but be happy. She wanted a Celebration of Life.
Grandma, you are finally home.
Dolores resided in Lancaster, Texas with her granddaughter Carol Jones whom was also her caretaker along with Lauren “Abbey” Chambers.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband James Taylor; daughter Dolores Charlia Chambers; son Charles “Danny” Carter; grandson Darrell Joe Chambers; Great grandson Caedon Carter; and Great granddaughter Jaycie Chambers.
Dolores is survived by 9 grandkids, 18 great grandkids, and 27 great great grandkids and let’s not forget her fur baby CoCo.
