Mr. Jesse J Carden

APRIL 22, 1943 – JUNE 29, 2021

Jesse J Carden was born in Fairfield., Texas on April 22 1943, to parents Isiah Carden and Maurine Govan Carden. He was the fourth child of six children. Jesse accepted Christ at an early age as a member of the Jones Chapel Methodist Church where he was active in Sunday school classes and the Methodist Youth Fellowship.

Later in his youth he began working alongside his father at Hill Ranch until he graduated from high school. During this time his father instilled in him and his siblings to be ethical in all their dealings, be good citizens and perhaps most importantly to be self-reliant and be sure that God is first in their lives. Jesse was an active member of the 4-H club, Dogan High School varsity basketball and baseball teams. In 1961 he graduated from Dogan High School in Fairfield, Texas. Jesse was an active member of the Dogan Alumni Association.

He moved to Dallas in 1962 and later married his high school sweetheart Lessie “Pauline” Ross in 1963. Jesse worked in the transportation industry for over 50 years driving 18 wheelers and as a school bus driver for DISD where he retired in January of 2020. He was a proud member of the “Exciting” Singing Hills Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon board for many years.

Jesse was a charter member of the Ike Carden Rodeo Association. He and his siblings honored their father Isiah Carden by working with the community and the Ike Carden Rodeo Association which awarded scholarships to high school seniors in Freestone County. This Association was active from 1999 to 2012.

In his free time he enjoyed his family, friends, lots of good food, dominos and Blue Bell ice cream.
