In the ongoing dispute between the Lone Star State and the Big Apple, a counter-busing plan was proposed by Mayor Eric Adams of New York City.

Expressing frustration about the continued transportation of migrants to the city by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Mayor Adams suggested sending New Yorkers to Texas to campaign against the incumbent.

In a press conference on August 9, Mayor Adams explained, “I am deeply contemplating taking a busload of New Yorkers to go to Texas.”

The purpose of the trip would be to “do some good old-fashioned door knocking because we have to, for the good of America,” the mayor said. “We have to get him out of office.”

“I already called all my friends in Texas and told them how to cast their votes,” he continued.

Recently, Texas Governor Greg Abbott began transporting migrants to New York City as a protest against the open border policies advanced by the Biden administration and supported by Mayor Adams.

Adams expressed outrage after the migrants arrived, condemning Abbott.

“He’s demonstrated his moral character with these actions, and they’re disgusting,” he said.

The mayor asserted the governor’s actions “must be condemned. This must be looked into.”

Adams also suggested that the migrants were sent to New York against their will. However, in a statement provided to The Dallas Express, Renae Eze, the press secretary for Governor Abbott, rejected Mayor Adams’ claims.

She claimed that the “migrants willingly chose to go to New York City, having signed a voluntary consent waiver, available in multiple languages, upon boarding that they agreed on the destination.”

“If the mayor wants a solution to this crisis,” Eze continued, “he should call on President Biden to take immediate action to secure the border — something the President continues failing to do.”

Abbott responded to the reaction of Mayor Adams, saying that it “just shows the hypocrisy of these liberal leaders up in the northeast who think [the] border crisis created by Joe Biden … is fine as long as it’s Texas that has to deal with it, but as soon as they have to deal with it … they are up in arms.”
