A mask-wearing anti-Israel protester stormed the stage and disrupted a welcome party event at the Democratic National Convention.

The altercation, caught on video, shows a young woman climbing the stage and rushing toward the microphone at the event on Monday.

Her first several words are inaudible in the video, but she can then be heard saying, “… Palestine, 150,000 people are dead! You are funding a genocide. The Harris-Biden administration keeps sending money to Israel.”

She was apprehended by staff, who escorted her off the stage. The person recording the video and several other attendees chanted “Free, free, Palestine!” as she was removed.

This disruption is far from rare in the 2024 election cycle.

A rally for Vice President Kamala Harris was disrupted in Detroit when hecklers began shouting, “Kamala, Kamala, you can’t hide! We won’t vote for genocide,” The Dallas Express previously reported.

“I’m here because we believe in democracy. Everyone’s voice matters,” Harris responded. “But I am speaking now. I am speaking now.”

She then said, “You know what? If you want Donald Trump to win, then say that. Otherwise, I’m speaking.”

Something similar happened at former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s final campaign stop at the Fort Worth Stockyards. During her closing speech on the eve of the Texas primary, anti-Israel protesters interrupted her more than a dozen times. Some of the disruptions can be seen in videos DX recorded.

Anti-Israel protesters have interrupted more than just political events; they have frequently disrupted governmental functions as well. Scores of protesters disrupted a Dallas City Council meeting in December 2023. The following month, a similar disruption, albeit with fewer protesters, occurred during another council meeting.

The current Israeli-Palestinian conflict began on October 7, 2023, with a surprise terrorist attack by Iranian-backed Hamas on the small Jewish state. In response, Israel began bombing the Gaza Strip and, two weeks later, launched a full-scale invasion of Gaza.

Dallas elected officials, including Mayor Eric Johnson, were quick to publicly offer their support for Israel. The federal response was likewise supportive, with the U.S. House of Representatives authorizing billions in aid for the Jewish nation on the Mediterranean.

Nevertheless, warfare has raged ever since. Hamas reportedly rejected a potential peace deal between the warring factions, and a pathway to ending the conflict does not appear to be in sight.
