Trump Rejects ‘Fake News Media’ On Iran: General Caine Ready To Win

President Donald Trump has pushed against reports claiming that Joint Chiefs Chairman General Daniel “Razin” Caine opposes any military action against Iran.

In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump defended Caine’s record and reputation while making clear that any decision to start a military campaign in Iran rests solely with him, adding that the United States military stands ready.

“Numerous stories from the Fake News Media have been circulating stating that General Daniel Caine, sometimes referred to as Razin, is against us going to War with Iran. The story does not attribute this vast wealth of knowledge to anyone, and is 100% incorrect,” Trump wrote. “General Caine, like all of us, would like not to see War but, if a decision is made on going against Iran at a Military level, it is his opinion that it will be something easily won.”

Trump also highlighted Caine’s experience in Iran, speaking on how the General led Operation Midnight Hammer – the recent strike on Iranian nuclear development facilities using B-2 stealth bombers. The strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure hot spots allegedly eliminated what Trump administration officials have called an existential threat to regional stability and American allies.

“…He was in charge of Midnight Hammer, the attack on the Iranian Nuclear Development. It is a Development no longer, but rather, was blown to smithereens by our Great B-2 Bombers. Razin Caine is a Great Fighter, and represents the Most Powerful Military anywhere in the World,” The President added. “He has not spoken of not doing Iran, or even the fake limited strikes that I have been reading about, he only knows one thing, how to WIN and, if he is told to do so, he will be leading the pack.”

Iran’s nuclear plans have long caused worry among Western allies. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), as of May 2025, Iran had accumulated enough uranium (enriched to 60% purity) to potentially produce nine nuclear weapons (if further enriched to 90%).

The IAEI also reported that Iran remains “the only non-nuclear-weapon State” in the world producing such material, calling the situation a matter of “serious concern.”

Trump has expressed a preference for diplomacy over war, writing that he would “rather have a Deal than not” – while also leaving little doubt about what would happen if negotiations fail.

“If we don’t make a Deal, it will be a very bad day for that Country,” Trump warned, “its people… are great and wonderful, and something like this should never have happened to them.”

Negotiations with Iran are ongoing, with both sides having conducted several rounds of talks in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Trump also signed an executive order upping the pressure on the leaders in Tehran, which could even potentially “impose tariffs on countries that acquire any goods or services from Iran to protect the national security.”
