President Donald Trump has declared that he rejected an invitation to Jeffrey Epstein’s Caribbean island, further detailing how the financier’s recruitment of young women from Mar-A-Lago led to a falling out between the two.
In a series of public appearances and statements in recent days, the President insisted he had “never had the privilege” of setting foot on Epstein’s private island, while also accusing former President Bill Clinton of having visited.
“I never had the privilege of going to his island, and I did turn it down, but a lot of people in Palm Beach were invited to his island. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down,” explained the President, per The New York Times.
Trump has further sought to explain the end of their relationship, stating publicly that the two had a falling out after the financier “did something that was inappropriate,” claiming that Epstein was recruiting young spa employees from Mar-a-Lago.
“He took people,” Trump added, per Fox News.
“I said, ‘Don’t do that anymore,’ you know, they work for me. And he took beyond that. He took some others. And once he did that, that was the end of him.”
Trump was then asked whether the people that Epstein recruited were young women, to which the President responded by saying that “the answer is yes, they were.”
“People were taken out of the spa — hired by him — in other words, gone. And other people would come and complain, ‘This guy is taking people from the spa,’” said Trump, as reported by NPR.
“I didn’t know that. And then when I heard about it, I told him, I said, ‘Listen, we don’t want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa, I don’t want them taking people.’ And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, ‘Out of here.’”
These comments come as the White House has faced internal strain over its handling of ongoing demands for greater transparency regarding Epstein’s activities, including pressure to release additional investigative files and grand jury testimony.
Trump has claimed in the past that the Epstein files were “written by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration,” as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly briefed the President about the files in May, telling Trump that his name, along with many other well-known officials, appeared in the files.
One source close to this story claimed that there were hundreds of names in the files, with Bondi stating that it was a “routine briefing” meant to keep the President up to date about the most important information.
These reports, along with other claims made by news publications, have prompted Trump to call for the full release of the Epstein files.
“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval,” wrote Trump on social media, as reported by DX.
“This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!”
Currently, there is no indication about whether these documents will be released, though it is notable that the President has opted to call for the full release of information.
