President Trump signed three veterans-focused bills into law on Tuesday, expanding housing benefits and job training for former service members.

The legislation addresses disability compensation calculations, budget oversight, and vocational rehabilitation programs.

The new laws mark a bipartisan effort to strengthen support systems for America’s veterans. They arrive as the Department of Veterans Affairs faces mounting pressure to improve services and accountability.

The “Disabled Veterans Housing Support Act” excludes service-connected disability payments from income calculations for housing assistance. This change allows more veterans to qualify for affordable housing programs despite receiving compensation for injuries sustained during military service.

The “VA Budget Shortfall Accountability Act” mandates reporting on funding gaps within the Department of Veterans Affairs. The measure aims to prevent service disruptions by identifying budget problems before they impact veteran care.

The “FAST VETS Act” establishes clear guidelines for updating veterans’ vocational rehabilitation plans. The law specifies when these employment training programs must be revised to better serve veterans transitioning to civilian careers.

All three bills passed Congress with broad support before reaching the President’s desk.
