President Donald Trump said Sunday that members of his Board of Peace have pledged more than $5 billion toward humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

In a February 15 post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that member states would formally announce the funding during a February 19 meeting in Washington, D.C.

“On February 19th, 2026, I will again be joined by Board of Peace Members at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., where we will announce that Member States have pledged more than $5 BILLION DOLLARS toward the Gaza Humanitarian and Reconstruction efforts, and have committed thousands of personnel to the International Stabilization Force and Local Police to maintain Security and Peace for Gazans,” Trump wrote.

He added, “Very importantly, Hamas must uphold its commitment to Full and Immediate Demilitarization. The Board of Peace will prove to be the most consequential International Body in History, and it is my honor to serve as its Chairman.”

Trump also said that two dozen founding members joined him in Davos, Switzerland, to mark the Board’s formation and present what he described as a long-term vision for Gaza.

Board Of Peace Background

Leaders from 17 countries participated in the initial charter signing ceremony in Davos in late January, Fox News reported.

Israel formally joined the Board of Peace last week ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump at the White House.

Several additional countries were invited to join, including Russia, Belarus, France, Germany, Vietnam, Finland, Ukraine, Ireland, Greece, and China, Fox News reported. Poland and Italy have publicly declined participation.

Military Posture In The Region

The announcement comes amid heightened U.S. military positioning in the Middle East.

Trump has deployed the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group and the USS Michael Murphy guided-missile destroyer as U.S. envoys continue discussions with Iranian officials in Oman, Fox News reported.

Additional naval assets — including the USS Bulkeley, USS Roosevelt, USS Delbert D. Black, USS McFaul, USS Mitscher, USS Spruance, and USS Frank E. Petersen Jr. — are positioned across key waterways surrounding Iran, including the eastern Mediterranean, Red Sea, Persian Gulf, and Arabian Sea.

The administration has not released additional details on how the pledged funds will be distributed or administered.
