Members of the House Oversight and Reform Committee locked horns over policy and sexual politics on February 5.
The trouble began when Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) questioned officials during a hearing on “rightsizing government.”
“Does this advance the interest of American citizens — paying for trannies in Guatemala to the tune of $2 million?” Mace asked.
She then read off a list of similar government programs funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that have recently been scrutinized for their alleged frivolity.

When she finished her questioning, oversight ranking member Gerry Connolly (D-VA) sought to scold her. He requested a parliamentary inquiry over Mace’s use of the term “trannies.”
“The gentlelady has used a phrase that is considered a slur in the LGBTQ community and the trans community,” Connolly said to Chairman James Comer (R-KY).
Somehow divining an incoming retort from Mace, he preemptively responded, “Let me please finish without interruption.”
Mace interjected anyway.
“Tranny, tranny, tranny!” she hit back. “I don’t really care. You want penises in women’s bathrooms, and I’m not gonna have it. No, thank you. It’s disgusting.”
Connolly again raised concern.
“To me, a slur is a slur,” he said. “And here in the committee, a level of decorum requires us to try consciously to avoid slurs. You just heard that gentlelady actually, actively, robustly repeat it.”
“I would just ask the Chairman that she be counseled. … We can have debate and policy discussion without offending human beings who are our fellow citizens,” he added.
Mace indicated that this was intolerable. She insisted that she was “not going to be counseled by a man over men and women’s spaces or men who have mental health issues dressing as women.”
Comer tried to move on without immediately taking action. He said he’s “not up to date on my politically correct LGBTQ terminology” and will “look into” Connolly’s inquiry.
Mace told Comer, “We don’t have to [be up to date on politically correct LGBTQ term terminology] anymore.”
This is not Mace’s first dust-up with “transgender” preferences.
She encountered a congressional bathroom brouhaha, which resulted in death threats after she introduced a House rule to forbid “transgender” people from using bathrooms that do not conform to their birth sex, DX reported.
This matter boiled over when Mace said she was accosted by a “trans” activist, per CNN.
Eventually, House Speaker Mike Johnson imposed a policy to achieve the outcome Mace’s proposed rule would have, NBC reported.
