Democrat leaders allegedly threatened to forcibly remove President Joe Biden from office unless he ended his bid for re-election.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” Biden wrote in a letter posted on X.

Now, reports are coming out that top Democrats may have threatened to remove Biden by invoking the 25th amendment of the U.S. Constitution if he did not acquiesce.

The 25th Amendment allows the vice president and a majority of either the cabinet or another entity chosen by the U.S. Congress to remove the president from office without his consent if he is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.”

An anonymous source close to the Biden family allegedly told the New York Post that the plan to have Biden drop out of the race had been in the works for weeks, even as Biden fought against it.

The report might explain why Hunter Biden suddenly became involved in his father’s daily business and accompanied him to every meeting.

“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” the source said, reported NYP. “Hunter felt [Joe] was being set up and he was very concerned about his father. These people, these officials, were not on Joe’s side.”

The first presidential debate between Biden and former President Donald Trump was the earliest such a debate has ever taken place, set for 131 days before the general election. The prior record was for the debate between Ronald Reagan and Independent candidate John Anderson for the 1980 election, which occurred 44 days ahead of that year’s general election. The average length of time between the first debate and the general election is 35 days, reported ABC News.

This debate was slated so unusually early in the year that neither side had formally accepted the nomination to represent his party in the general election at the time.

The source reportedly told NYP that Biden’s health was in decline for at least the last two years and that Democrat officials knew.

“When I saw him a couple of years ago, it was frightening,” the source said, per NYP. “He was just repeating slogans and had no idea who I was.”

The allegation would support what Chuck Todd recently claimed about a Biden cabinet secretary who said two years ago that the president “can’t run again like this.”
