Texas Governor Greg Abbot sent another busload of unlawful migrants to Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.

The unlawful migrants were dropped off at the U.S. Naval Observatory. The vice president’s residence lies on the grounds of the observatory.

“Until President Biden steps up and does his job, Texas will continue busing migrants to sanctuary cities to provide relief to our overwhelmed border towns,” said Andrew Mahaleris, a spokesperson for Gov. Abbott, per The Texas Tribune.

Footage of migrants getting off the bus and unloading their luggage was shared on Twitter.

Title 42, a pandemic-era policy that made it easier for Border Patrol to expel unlawful migrants on site, expired four days prior, as reported by The Dallas Express.

Governor Abbott said on Twitter last week that he has bused 9,200 unlawful migrants to Washington, D.C., and more than 17,000 to sanctuary cities across the country.

These numbers were released before Sunday.

Abbott has sent busloads of unlawful migrants to Harris’ home on several prior occasions, including September, October, and December of last year.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said during a Thursday press briefing that it is “sad and tragic … when a government official uses migrants as pawns for political purposes.”

Abbott has maintained that the Biden administration bears responsibility for “ignoring and denying the historic crisis at our southern border, which has endangered and overwhelmed Texas communities for almost two years.”

“Our supposed Border Czar, Vice President Kamala Harris, has yet to even visit the border to see firsthand the impact of the open border policies she has helped implement, even going so far as to claim the border is ‘secure,'” he said in a statement last September.

Abbot promised he would continue to bus unlawful migrants.

“Texas will continue sending migrants to sanctuary cities like Washington, D.C. until President Biden and Border Czar Harris step up and do their jobs to secure the border.”

As previously covered by The Dallas Express, the governor said during a May 10 interview that he is committed to supporting the Texas National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety in their efforts to repel the thousands of unlawful migrants attempting to cross the border following the expiration of Title 42.
