Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) said she would “absolutely” take an IQ test against President Donald Trump during an appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday night.
The exchange stems from Trump’s comments in a March radio interview with Vince Coglianese, where he labeled Crockett a “lowlife” and “very low-IQ person” after she referred to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels,” a remark which appeared to reference Abbott’s use of a wheelchair.

On Kimmel’s show, the host played a clip of Trump mocking Crockett as the Democratic Party’s “new star,” suggesting the party was in trouble if she represented its future.
Kimmel asked, “He also called you low-IQ, I’m sure you’re aware of that. Would you be willing to take an IQ test publicly, head-to-head against the President of the United States?”
“Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely!” Crockett replied, drawing applause from the audience.
However, Crockett’s judgment came under fire when, as reported by The Dallas Express, she boasted during a House hearing that she secured a public defender job with no experience by telling her boss, “Hire me because I’m Black,” a remark critics slammed as a foolish admission of prioritizing race over merit, fueling accusations of her being an unqualified DEI hire.
Crockett, a Dallas attorney serving her second term in Congress, also took aim at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), reaffirming her earlier claim that Greene is the “dumbest person in Congress.”
She told Kimmel, “She’s still winning, honey,” when asked if Greene still held that title.
Trump has not publicly responded to Crockett’s challenge. The president, who underwent a physical and cognitive test in April, has frequently claimed superior cognitive abilities, telling reporters on Air Force One that he was in “good shape,” Fox News reported.
The proposed IQ test remains hypothetical, but Crockett’s challenge underscores her willingness to engage Trump directly, keeping her in the spotlight as a vocal critic of the administration.
