Tax Day falls on Wednesday, April 15, and several national restaurant chains and retailers are marking the occasion with discounts, buy-one-get-one offers, and free food to give customers a break after filing their returns.
Subway is among the most generous, offering rewards members a free footlong sub when they buy another of equal or lesser value with promo code FLBOGO. The deal runs through April 28.
On April 15 specifically, 1,040 random customers who place a mobile order using the code will receive a coupon for a free footlong in their accounts as a “refund.”
“Tax Day can be tough, especially for folks who are getting a bill this year instead of a break when they need it most,” Dave Skena, chief marketing officer of Subway North America, said in a release. “Whether you are using our Buy One Get One Free footlong offer or are one of the 1,040 footlong ‘refund’ recipients, we hope a freshly made, handcrafted and delicious sandwich from Subway provides some relief.”
Krispy Kreme is giving customers a free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts with the purchase of any dozen on April 15 when they order online or through the app and use the code TAXBREAK.
Wendy’s is providing a free six-piece nugget order with any $5 purchase through its app on Tax Day.
Pizza Hut is offering a large three-topping pizza for $10.00 starting on April 15.
Popeyes is offering 25% off the three-piece tenders combo, available on the Popeyes app or website.
Checkers and Rally’s are selling their 6-ounce Big Buford burger for $3 with no coupon required.
Church’s Texas Chicken is giving rewards members an eight-piece leg-and-thigh meal for $4.99.
Kroger shoppers can get a Private Selection frozen meal for half off with the purchase of one between April 15 and April 22 using a digital coupon.
BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is taking $10 off a $40 purchase with code TAXDAY for dine-in or takeout.
Marco’s Pizza is selling a large Pepperoni Magnifico for $12.99 with code TAXRELIEF or a medium one-topping pizza for $8.99 with code FIRSTPICK.
Fazoli’s is giving rewards members a free baked spaghetti with the purchase of one through the app.
