A recent study suggests a correlation between uncleanliness and party control in major U.S. cities.
As previously reported in The Dallas Express, Dallas came in at No.32 on a list of the 150 biggest cities in the United States, ranked according to how “dirty” they were in the aftermath of the 2023 winter holiday season.
The study by LawnStarter used publicly available data on a number of quality-of-life factors, like air quality, the share of overcrowded homes, landfill tonnage, and the share of residents unsatisfied with garbage collection, to rank the cities.
The top 10 dirtiest cities, according to the study, in descending order, were as follows:
1. Houston, Texas
2. Newark, New Jersey
3. San Bernardino, California
4. Detroit, Michigan
5. Jersey City, New Jersey
6. Bakersfield, California
7. San Antonio, Texas
8. Fresno, California
9. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
10. Yonkers, New York
Seven out of the top 10 cities had either Democratic or self-identified progressive mayors. The top five all had Democratic mayors.
This correlation is only the latest pattern to emerge identifying a link between local party governance and disquieting characteristics in quality of life. In addition to uncleanliness, nationwide studies suggest apparent connections to high rates of violent crime, as previously reported in The Dallas Express.
For its part, Dallas recently struggled with providing trash collection, fumbling its response to countless reports of delayed or missed stops on garbage routes around the winter holiday season. Residents reported that trash was overflowing from garbage cans into the streets in parts of the city, as The Dallas Express covered at the time.
While City officials initially teased residents with talk of reimbursements, the City recently confirmed to The Dallas Express that no such gesture would be forthcoming, citing restrictions in the City Code.
Like Houston, Dallas has a city government run overwhelmingly by Democrats or self-identified progressives.
Asked about this dynamic by The Dallas Express, Keep Dallas Safe’s executive director Jacob Lloyd Colglazier stated:
“The Democrat party is totally captured by the radical left which demands ‘equality’ at any cost. They have repeatedly failed to create a utopia, so they are working hard to make every city equally poor, dirty, and dangerous.”
Still, six out of 10 of the cleanest cities on LawnStarter’s ranking were also run by Democrats, including Norfolk, Virginia; Des Moines, Iowa; Buffalo, New York; Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Greensboro, North Carolina; and Fremont, California.
The Dallas Express also sent requests for comment to Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa, the Democratic Mayors Association, the Democratic Governors Association, the industry group National Waste & Recycling Association, and the Teamsters Union (which represents roughly 30,000 sanitation workers).
Requests for comment were also sent to environmentalist organizations, including the Texas Campaign for the Environment, the Sunrise Movement’s national office, the Central Texas chapter of the Inland Ocean Coalition, 350’s U.S. communications team, and Green America.
No responses were received by press time.

Whine about being a victim of election fraud, being invaded by illegals, losing their majority “rights” and obstruct everything the Democrats try to accomplish, while dividing the country, and, in my opinion, complicit in efforts to overthrow the government.

The Dems are pushing the children into a culture that is against God. Food, fuel and everything else is skyrocketing to the point people are actually financing food for their families.
We do not live in an open boarder country, we never have been but look at where we are. I am not against people coming to our great country but do it the right way. Why would anyone want to defund the men and women hired to protect “we the people”? No, you get rid of the bad, you do not dissolve a department.
Energy, the green new lie! Look at what it takes to manufacture the batteries for a EV. Look at the pollution it produces. Some of the smartest minds have given hours and hours of talks explaining the emissions effects on EV vs petrol, EV losses before the vehicle is even sold. There are so many issues right now, so before you start thanking God and telling people not to make it political, take time and look into the party you are thanking Christ for.
In the Bible it speaks of life. a lot. Why would you, thank Christ for the people who want to legalize the taking of a perfectly healthy life from a mothers womb? And you thank Christ for that? Maybe I misunderstood when you said God? Maybe you are not of the Christian faith? You see, the followers of Jesus Christ do not believe in taking life, or division, along with so many other things. By the way, we have more division and tension between races right now than we have had in 50 years. I can go on about Christian beliefs and how the government is not following it. After all, this is “One Nation Under God” right? But yet the government wants “we the people” to have nothing and be happy, no it does not work that way. They want to give up or sovereignty, they want to push a vaccine that has been proven not safe and to be deadly. They are allowing illegals into America and these illegals are robing, raping and killing the citizens of this beautiful country of ours. The V.P. of the United States of America actually told people and encouraging them to rise up become violent and destroy businesses and property with no recourse and a free ticket out of jail. I do not know if you understand this but small business insurance does not cover for riots and terrorizing of building, property and content. So what about the small business owners who suffered due to Antifa and BLM? Doesn’t “all life matter”? I can go on and on but I am not. so I ask you if you can find the time, open your Bible ( if you do not have one I will purchase one for you) and just start reading. Our sanitation department is the worst. They have destroyed platforms for my trash and recycle cart over 4 times. They will not take responsibility or even talk to me face to face. At the current moment we have to take the carts out front. I ask one of the department workers in the alley way the day before yesterday why. The man was nice and he explained that the trucks are too big and they are having to be towed out of the alleyway because they are getting stuck because the alley is too narrow. So instead of doing it right and pouring concrete they are putting down stone mix. So to L.B. And her great love for the Dems. Do the job right the first time, do not purchase trucks that are too wide for alley ways, do not coward to the people that pay you, do the job you were hired to do. And that is just under the subject of sanitation! Our sanitation department will leave more trash on the ground than they pick up. They will walk past trash on the ground or kick it. L.B. Sanitation Company are owned by Republicans. They have cut people and have Trucks that are automatic to pickup the trash. They don’t pickup the trash that is wasted in alleys and streets.

Our tax dollars do not pay them to litter!

1. Most cities are democratic, while most smaller cities and rural areas are republican, so a study only looking at the countries largest cities would already imply that any data point could be generalized as being democratic.
2. Lawnstarter also has a poll ranking the best cities for pizza lovers. San Francisco beat out Chicago. Frisco, Lubbock and Ft. Worth all beat out Dallas. Um, okay.
