An online tipline portal launched by Senate Democrats aimed at rooting out government corruption has been roasted by conservative social media users.
Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer announced on Monday the launch of the Senate Democratic Whistleblower Portal, which his office described as a “vital tool to expose corruption, abuses of power, and threats to safety within the Trump Administration, ensuring the administration is held accountable.”
In remarks on the Senate floor, Schumer (D-NY) said the portal would give “civil servants and people of good will the chance to report on potential wrongdoing in government, abuse of power, and threats to public safety.”
The tipline form, which Schumer shared via the social media platform X, includes the categories “retaliation,” “wasteful spending,” “fraud,” “criminal activity,” and “other.”
The announcement was met with mockery and derision by many online commentators, some of whom swarmed the website to report Democrats or to swamp the site with fake names and contact information, the Daily Mail reported.

“‘Threats to public safety. …’ This is rich coming from Schumer, who stood on the steps of the Supreme Court and threatened Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, saying they would ‘pay the price’ for exercising judicial review,” wrote Carrie Severino, president of Judicial Network.
“Use Chuck’s ‘portal’ and actually file it. I already have. Let’s overwhelm the portal with complaints about the Democrats’ corruption!” posted social media user John Frix.
The whistleblower portal is part of a four-pronged approach that Senate Democrats are using to fight back against the Republican agenda, which Schumer claimed is to “enrich the rich and powerful by cutting investments in working families and handing out democracy over to 21st-century robber barons.”
He added that Senate Democrats would use their committee roles to probe the Trump administration’s actions, use their legislative votes to “steady the ship,” and spearhead a “coordinated, aggressive” communications effort to “keep Senate Democrats informed, united, and amplifying the truth behind the Trump Administration’s agenda,” CBS News reported.
