SharkNinja is recalling approximately 1.8 million Ninja Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers due to a burn hazard after more than 100 reports of injuries, including severe second-and third-degree burns, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday.

The recall involves all models of the Ninja Foodi OP300 Series, which can function as both a pressure cooker and an air fryer. The CPSC said the pressure-cooking lid can be opened during use, allowing hot contents to escape and posing a risk of burn injuries.

SharkNinja has received 106 reports of burn incidents, with more than 50 involving second- or third-degree burns to the face or body. At least 26 lawsuits related to these injuries have been filed against the company.

The recalled pressure cookers, which have a 6.5-quart capacity and are black with “Ninja” printed on the front, were sold at major retailers including Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, and Target, as well as online at ninjakitchen.com and other retail websites from January 2019 through March 2025. The units retailed for about $200.

Replacement lids for the OP300 series purchased separately are also included in the recall.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the pressure-cooking function and contact SharkNinja for a free replacement lid. The CPSC noted that the air frying and other functions of the appliance remain safe to use. SharkNinja emphasized that customer safety is a top priority and is cooperating with the CPSC and Health Canada to address the issue.

To obtain a replacement lid, consumers can contact SharkNinja toll-free at 888-370-1733 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET on Saturday. They can also email [email protected] or visit www.ninjakitchen.com and click on “Recalls” under the “Support” section at the top of the webpage.

The recall affects approximately 1,846,400 units sold in the United States and 184,240 units sold in Canada. For more information, consumers can visit the CPSC website at www.cpsc.gov or SharkNinja’s recall page at www.rqa-inc.com/client/SharkNinja.
