In a recent public appearance, Dallas-based U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett sparked fury with her outspoken criticism of “white supremacy” within U.S. politics.
The Democrat’s remarks were made during an interview on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live,” where she expressed her frustration with what she perceives as the coddling of “mediocre white boys” in positions of power.
She specifically criticized the Trump administration, accusing it of harboring and promoting white supremacist ideologies.
“We have a white supremacist in the White House,” Crockett stated, pointing to the administration’s policies and appointments as evidence.
Crockett’s criticism focused on the recent appointment of Darren Beattie to a top role at the State Department. Beattie, a former Trump aide, was previously dismissed for attending a white nationalist conference. Crockett argues that the appointment underscores the administration’s tolerance for extremist views.
Crockett also highlighted the broader implications of these appointments, linking them to efforts to undermine diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies. She argued that opposition to DEI initiatives is often rooted in a desire to maintain the status quo, which disproportionately benefits white individuals at the expense of minorities.
The congresswoman’s comments have reignited discussions about the role of race in American politics, particularly concerning policies affecting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and affirmative action.
Critics have countered her broadside on the Trump White House, revealing her own racist views.
