Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that Poland has transferred weapons worth $1.6 billion to Ukraine, supporting their fight against invading Russian forces “for the protection of Ukrainian, Polish, and European sovereignty.”

According to Ukrainian News Agency reports, “Poland has supplied Ukraine with weapons worth about PLN 7 billion,” Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia for their leadership in providing Ukraine with comprehensive support in countering Russia’s armed aggression, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

On April 22, President Zelenskyy warned that Russia’s war on his country is only the beginning of Vladimir Putin’s plans for invasion.

“They want to capture other countries … We are the first in line. Who will come next?” Zelenskyy said in a daily address on April 21.

According to the Huffington Post, fears that Russia will not stop with its invasion of Ukraine were sparked earlier this week by comments from a Russian general. The general detailed the Kremlin’s intention to control the entirety of southern Ukraine to access Moldova better, indicating that country as the next possible target.

According to Yahoo News, the Kremlin has now “acknowledged that the second phase of the war’s goal is simply to occupy eastern and southern Ukraine, rather than defeat the mythical Nazis… Imperialism as it is,” the declaration declared.

Russia has revealed its true goal as brazen “imperialism,” Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said.

Moldova, which applied for membership in the European Union last month, summoned Moscow’s ambassador on Friday to express “deep concern” about the general’s chilling remarks.

According to the Huffington Post, Zelenskyy will meet with the U.S. secretary of state and secretary of defense on Sunday in Kyiv.

During a press conference on Saturday, President Zelenskyy discussed the plans. He did not immediately share any additional information about U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin’s visit.

On Saturday, the White House declined to comment.

For weeks, Zelenskyy has urged Western allies to send more weapons to Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion.
