Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has launched an investigation into Google for alleged bias against conservative viewpoints during the election period.

In an exclusive FOX Business report, Bailey claimed Google manipulates its search algorithms to push conservative-related content, including information about former President Donald Trump’s campaign, to later pages, making it less visible to users.

He also accuses Google of “waging a war on the Democratic process” and asserts this action interferes with a fair election.

Bailey’s office plans to issue a subpoena to examine Google’s search algorithm practices, particularly regarding the prioritization and ranking of political content.

This investigation joins other recent scrutiny of Google’s practices, as U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, a Kansas Republican, also launched a probe this summer after Google allegedly suppressed search results for news about a failed assassination attempt on Trump.

Bailey’s investigation will examine the extent of potential algorithmic bias and its influence on the visibility of conservative information. This issue puts Google under the microscope for alleged political bias, echoing ongoing concerns about tech companies’ influence on public perception and political discourse.

Trump is locked in a tight presidential race with Vice President Kamala Harris. Most recent polls show both candidates with the margin of error of each other.

With election day less than two weeks away, both candidates have been blitzing battleground states on the hunt for every last vote.
