President Donald Trump sparked widespread social media attention after releasing a new White House video featuring a song by music artist Nicki Minaj.

Minaj expressed excitement about her music being included in the Presidential video posted to the White House TikTok account and publicly thanked President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

“This is pretty incredible. Thank you,” Minaj said after reposting the clip on TikTok.

The video followed Minaj’s praise of Trump for defending persecuted Christians in Nigeria and urging Congress to act — a stance that divided her fan base. Supporters applauded her stand for religious freedom, while critics accused her of political opportunism.

Trump said Christianity in Nigeria faces an urgent threat, citing thousands of deaths and blaming radical Islamist extremists for the violence. He called on lawmakers to act, writing on Truth Social: “The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our great Christian population around the world.”

Minaj shared Trump’s post on X, describing it as a defense of civil liberties:

Minaj cited those figures as her reason for speaking out, calling it a matter of conscience rather than politics.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, religious persecution in Nigeria has reached genocidal levels. More than 100,000 Christians have been killed since 2009, and thousands of churches have been destroyed by radical Islamist groups such as Boko Haram.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has called out the global silence on the atrocities, saying, “The world must awaken to this crisis,” joining a growing chorus of voices urging U.S. leaders to act.

Minaj’s comments drew strong reactions across social media. Several longtime fans criticized her praise of Trump. “Nicki Minaj really managed to disappoint me over and over again since last year. Sometimes her choices and the way she acts is just insane. Supporting Donald Trump is crazy,” one fan said, according to the New York Post.

Another fan connected their frustration to current politics, writing, “Millions of families can’t feed their families today due to this government shutdown, and Nicki Minaj using her platform to praise Donald Trump. What a weird a** bxtch,” reported the NYP.

Minaj responded by accusing critics of ignoring the human cost of religious violence and focusing on identity politics.

“Imagine hearing that Christians are being M*RDERED and making it about you being gay,” she said, according to journalist Eric Daugherty. She added that harassment had affected her family directly, saying, “When my home was swatted multiple times with my innocent toddler inside, you being gay couldn’t save me.”
