First Lady Melania Trump hosted the second meeting of the White House Task Force on Artificial Intelligence Education on Thursday, bringing together task force members and private sector leaders to advance AI education initiatives for American youth.

The meeting follows President Donald Trump’s executive order on AI education signed in April and reflects the administration’s push to position artificial intelligence as a cornerstone of economic growth.

“I predict AI will represent the single largest growth category in our nation during the Trump Administration—and I won’t be surprised if AI becomes known as the greatest engine of progress in the history of the United States of America,” Melania Trump said in a statement.

“But, as leaders and parents, we must manage AI’s growth responsibly. During this primitive stage, it is our duty to treat AI as we would our own children — empowering, but with watchful guidance. We are living in a moment of wonder, and it is our responsibility to prepare America’s children.”

The task force has already secured more than 135 pledges from private sector companies to support AI education across the United States.

Trump’s involvement builds on Melania’s BE BEST initiative, focusing on children’s online safety. The initiative helped generate bipartisan support for the TAKE IT DOWN Act, which Trump signed into law on May 19, 2025.

The First Lady has recently adopted AI technology, using it to narrate the audiobook version of her New York Times bestselling memoir, Melania.

On August 26, Melania launched the Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge, a nationwide competition for K-12 students and educators, as previously reported on by The Dallas Express. The challenge invites participants to “unleash their imagination and showcase the spirit of American innovation” through AI.Gov.
