In the latest episode of her podcast, Going Rogue with Lara Logan, journalist Lara Logan paid tribute to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk by reading a heartfelt letter she wrote following his assassination. Episode 35 centers entirely on Logan’s words, which reflect both personal memories and the broader impact Kirk had on the nation.
Logan recalled first meeting Kirk in 2017 in her small Hill Country town, where he spoke candidly about the dangers of ideological capture on college campuses. She described him as a modern-day David facing the Goliath of academic institutions hostile to free thought and faith.
In her letter, Logan praised Kirk’s courage, faith, and unshakable love for people—particularly the young students who found protection and purpose in Turning Point USA chapters. She wrote of the image of Kirk tossing hats into the crowd with “the light of God” in his eyes, and of his final moments on stage in Utah, radiant and smiling before thousands of supporters.
“You were just a kid, yet somehow you were bigger than all of us and yet still one of us at the same time,” Logan read, comparing his faith-driven mission to that of Jesus Christ. She closed with a prayer for Kirk’s widow, Erika, and their children, asking God to provide them peace and strength.
Logan emphasized that Kirk’s words and legacy would “echo for generations,” framing his life as a spiritual battle that now continues through those he inspired.
