The U.S. Mint is commemorating America’s 250th anniversary with two special coin offerings, including a new uncirculated coin set and a limited-edition quarter that will be randomly released into circulation ahead of Independence Day.

The Mint announced that sales of the 2026 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set will begin at 11 a.m. CDT on June 30, while 250,000 special Declaration of Independence quarters featuring a “July 4” privy mark will be distributed through banks and financial institutions nationwide.

Uncirculated Coin Set Goes on Sale June 30

Priced at $124.50, the 2026 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set includes two 10-coin cards featuring uncirculated-quality coins produced at the Mint’s Philadelphia and Denver facilities.

During the first 24 hours of sales, customers will be limited to purchasing 10 sets per household. The Mint has established a product mintage limit of 300,000 sets.

The collection includes five Semiquincentennial quarters honoring key moments in American history, featuring reverse designs depicting the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address.

The set also includes:

  • A 2026 Native American $1 coin honoring Polly Cooper and the Oneida Nation’s assistance to Gen. George Washington during the Revolutionary War.
  • A one-year-only Enduring Liberty half dollar featuring a new Statue of Liberty design in place of President John F. Kennedy.
  • A one-year-only Emerging Liberty dime, marking the first appearance of Liberty on the obverse of the coin since 1945.
  • A 2026 Jefferson nickel bearing the dates “1776 ~ 2026.”
  • A 2026 Lincoln penny, also marked with the nation’s semiquincentennial dates.

Special July 4 Quarters Entering Circulation

In addition to the collector’s set, the Mint is releasing 250,000 special Semiquincentennial Declaration of Independence quarters featuring a unique “July 4” privy mark.

Unlike traditional commemorative coins sold directly to collectors, these quarters will be randomly mixed with standard 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters and distributed through banks and financial institutions in time for the Fourth of July.

The special quarters will not carry a mint mark, giving Americans a chance to discover one through everyday transactions.

“This is more than a coin; it’s a defining moment in our nation’s story,” Mint Director Paul Hollis said in a statement. “We hope Americans enjoy the search for these iconic quarters as they’re meant to be shared, saved, and remembered as part of this historic anniversary.”

Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday

Both releases are part of the U.S. Mint’s semiquincentennial (SemiQ) program honoring the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Congress established the United States Mint in 1792. In addition to producing circulating U.S. coinage, the Mint manufactures proof, uncirculated, and commemorative coins, Congressional Gold Medals, bullion coins, and other numismatic products.

Customers can purchase the 2026 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin Set beginning June 30 and learn more about the Mint’s semiquincentennial coin program through the agency’s website.
