In a September 29 letter to the executive assistant director of the FBI’s human resources branch, three House Judiciary Committee republicans alleged that the agency is retaliating against whistleblowers.

“We are investigating serious allegations of abuse and misconduct within the senior leadership of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the letter to Jennifer Leigh Moore began.

The three Republican congressmen — Reps. Jim Jordan, Darrell Issa, and Mike Johnson — claimed they have received multiple “whistleblower disclosures” that maintain that the FBI is “engaging in a ‘purge’ of employees with conservative views.”

The complaints alleged that targeted agents have had their security clearances revoked and have also suffered indefinite suspensions. The congressmen claimed that Moore had directly signed off on many of these “adverse personnel actions.”

They also stated they had received information claiming Moore had retaliated against at least one whistleblower who had approached Congress with information.

“Your efforts to interfere with FBI employees who seek to expose the Bureau’s misconduct by communicating directly with Congress cannot be condoned,” they wrote.

The whistleblower in question is allegedly the individual who informed Congress that the FBI had conducted dozens of investigations into parents across the country who had publicly expressed opposition to COVID-19 mandates in public schools, going so far as to label these citizens with a “threat tag.”

The FBI responded to the public release of the letter with a statement denying any wrongdoing against current employees and retaliation against whistleblowers.

“The FBI does not target or take adverse action against employees for exercising their First Amendment rights or for their political views; to allege otherwise is false and misleading,” an FBI spokesperson said.

“The FBI is required to follow established policies and procedures, to include a thorough investigation, when suspending or revoking a security clearance.”

The spokesperson went on to say that the FBI “takes very seriously its responsibility to FBI employees who may make protected disclosures under the whistleblower regulations.”

In an interview with Fox News, Jordan shared that the whistleblowers he has spoken with have expressed top-down pressure to label more cases as “domestic violent extremism.”

“We refer to that as juicing the numbers — it’s pressure that is existing at the FBI to satisfy this narrative from President Biden, where he called half the country fascist and extremists,” Jordan said.

“Step back and view it in context,” Jordan invited.

“This is all happening in addition to the FBI raiding the home of a former president, in addition to the FBI taking the phone of a sitting member of Congress, in addition to the Democrats and Joe Biden passing legislation which is going to unleash 87,000 IRS agents on we the people, we the taxpayers,” Jordan explained.

“So, when you view it in context,” he added, “it’s almost like, just when you think it can’t get worse, they ratchet it up another level.”

The congressmen’s letter ends with a demand for Moore to contact the staff of the House Judiciary Committee no later than October 4 to schedule a time to testify on these allegations as part of their investigation.

“If you are represented by private counsel, we look forward to communicating with them shortly,” the letter read.
