A recent poll revealed that 79% of Americans surveyed believe that Donald Trump would have won re-election in 2020 if “truthful” coverage of Hunter Biden’s laptop and its contents had been reported by the media at the time.
The poll was fielded by the New Jersey-based Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics (TIPP) and included 1,335 adult participants.
Weeks before the November 2020 election, the New York Post published an article on information uncovered from a laptop allegedly belonging to then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.
According to the New York Post:
“Hunter Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the elder Biden pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.”
The New York Post went on to report:
“[The] never-before-revealed meeting is mentioned in a message of appreciation that Vadym Pozharskyi, an adviser to the board of Burisma, allegedly sent Hunter Biden on April 17, 2015, about a year after Hunter joined the Burisma board at a reported salary of up to $50,000 a month.”
Most media outlets ignored or downplayed the story at the time, claiming that any implication of wrongdoing by Joe Biden himself was scant.
NBC News wrote of the contents of the laptop, “the materials offered no evidence that Joe Biden played any role in his son’s dealings in China, let alone profited from them.” The article did not comment on the allegations surrounding Ukraine.
Social media platforms Facebook and Twitter actively restricted sharing of the New York Post story. In the aftermath of the election, the New York Post went as far as to claim that the media was covering up the story until after the election.
The poll also revealed that a slightly higher number (81%) of respondents believe that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland should appoint an independent special counsel to investigate the “possibly incriminating email and other evidence contained on Hunter Biden’s laptop.”
The U.S. Code of Federal Regulation calls for the appointment of a special counsel when the attorney general, or acting attorney general, “determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted” and that an investigation and potential prosecution “would present a conflict of interest for the Department [of Justice] or other extraordinary circumstances.”
President Biden appointed the current attorney general who oversees the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The Dallas Express has reported extensively on the handling of the investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop and its contents by the FBI and DOJ.
U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley has claimed in recent months to have been approached by whistleblowers that alleged widespread interference in the Congressional probe into Hunter Biden and his alleged criminal activity.
In a July 25 letter to the heads of the FBI and DOJ, Grassley claimed:
“The allegations provided to [my] office appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation.”
Of those polled, 47% said that “knowing before the election that the laptop contents were real and not ‘disinformation’ would have changed their voting decision — including more than two-thirds [71%] of Democrats.”
The poll also found that over half of those who participated gave the media failing letter grades — a “D” or “F” — for their coverage of this topic.
I don’t care who the next Republican president is in 2024. I just pray that he or she has the tenacity to do the right things. The biggest mistake that President Trump made when he was first elected was not getting rid of every Obama appointee when he assumed office like most other new presidents have done in the past. They did him wrong and I believe holdovers will do the same to a new Republican president. If Republicans take control of the House and Senate this November their first order of business should be impeaching Merrick Garland, closing the border, seeing that Mitch McConnell is voted from the Senate majority position, cleaning house at the FBI then absolutely assuring that no election will ever be stolen again.

So WHO is accusing the FBI of wrong doing? This article is not saying credible sources just that Grassley may have whistleblowers. Until we have credible sources this article is junk distraction from Trump’s actual crimes
I agree. Typical Republican MO. Make statements with no evidence of fact and imply doomsday scenarios. According to the article, a year went by between events. How can you conclude they were related? But they know their low information supporters will believe whatever they are told to believe.
