Police in Las Vegas have taken action after a report of an extraterrestrial creature in the area, installing cameras at a private residence.
Members of a Las Vegas family called the police and claimed that an unidentified flying object had crashed in their backyard during the overnight hours of April 30. They also claimed to have seen an alien. The family told police the creature was over 8 feet tall and had greenish skin.
“After the initial contact with LVMPD, the family at the residence reported they heard noises in their yard and were afraid for their safety,” Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) said in a statement to Fox News. “We offered to put cameras up to help ease their concerns of someone coming to harass or harm them.”
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, some U.S. military officials have suggested that some alleged UFO encounters might stem from contact with spy technologies deployed by foreign adversaries.
“I should … state clearly for the record that in our research … no credible evidence thus far of extraterrestrial activity, off-world technology, or objects that defy the known laws of physics,” said Sean M. Kirkpatrick, director of the Department of Defense’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, during a Senate subcommittee briefing back in April.
An investigation of the supposed encounter did not yield evidence of any alien creature or a crashed object in the backyard.
Still, bodycam footage showcased what appeared to be a green ball of light descending from the sky before disappearing the night of the alleged incident.
The American Meteor Society (AMS) recorded 22 sightings of a “fireball” in the skies above California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah that evening, 11 of which were reported in the Las Vegas area. Two people also submitted video clips of the fireball, with one appearing to be home security footage of an object falling from the sky.
“It was phenomenal, I’ve gone to see meteor showers way out in the desert and in the mountains where there was no light pollution, and this one knocked those out of the park in a heavily light polluted area,” wrote one observer listed as Kelsey G in AMS’ database. “Was so beautiful.”
