Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson launched his campaign Wednesday for the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nomination.

Hutchinson, 72, joins a field that includes former President Donald Trump, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and U.S. Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and others.

Former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are said to be considering campaigns.

During a campaign event Wednesday morning in his hometown of Bentonville, Hutchinson touted his conservative credentials.

“And now, I bring that same vigor to fight another battle, and that battle is for the future of our country and the soul of our party,” Hutchinson said, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “Today, I am announcing that I am a candidate for president of the United States.”
