Tesla and SpaceX CEO and X owner Elon Musk responded publicly after a TikTok video circulated online appearing to threaten his life, posting, “Then it is war,” in response to the clip.
The short video, which spread on X, showed a TikTok user identified as “dowza.z” making the statement while discussing allegations of fraud tied to Minnesota. The video was reposted by multiple X users before the TikTok account later became unavailable.
Musk responded to a repost of the clip on X on January 2, writing, “Then it is war.” The post was widely shared and drew significant attention on the platform.

In separate posts on January 1, Musk commented on the political climate in the United States, writing that the “radical left” poses a threat to the country. In those posts, he also said he plans to support Republican candidates in the 2026 midterm elections.
As of Friday, no law enforcement agency had announced any investigation related to the video or Musk’s response.
The incident adds to ongoing concerns about violent rhetoric circulating online and the speed at which such content can reach national prominence.
America is toast if the radical left wins.
They will open the floodgates to illegal immigration and fraud.
Won’t be America anymore. https://t.co/9lppGuSyAV

The incident comes amid a broader national debate over political violence, online radicalization, and platform moderation, following several recent cases involving threats against public officials and political commentators.
