Dolly Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, passed away on March 3, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 82. His death leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that lasted nearly six decades.
Despite being married to one of the most famous country music stars, Dean kept a low profile. He operated an asphalt-paving company in Nashville and preferred to stay out of the spotlight, allowing Parton to take center stage in her successful career.
The couple’s love story began when Parton was 18, and they met outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Nashville. They married on May 30, 1966, in a small ceremony in Ringgold, Georgia. Their nearly 60 years of marriage exemplified their strong commitment to each other.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together,” Parton said in a heartfelt statement. “Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years.” The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Dean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by immediate family. He is survived by his siblings, Sandra and Donnie.
