President-elect Donald Trump announced on December 10 that he nominated Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former panelist from Fox’s The Five, to serve as the United States Ambassador to Greece.

“For many years, Kimberly has been a close friend and ally,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. “Her extensive experience and leadership in law, media, and politics along with her sharp intellect make her supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad.”

“Kimberly is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece, advancing our interests on issues ranging from defense cooperation to trade and economic innovation,” he added.

This post came just hours after the public learned of her split from Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

An image of Trump Jr. holding hands with socialite Bettina Anderson and the message, “Donald Trump Jr. appears to have parted ways with fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle, photographed hand-in-hand with socialite Bettina Anderson,” AF Post tweeted.

The account then posted a link to a Daily Mail story that said Guilfoyle and the presidential progeny had not been seen together publicly since November 14 when they were photographed at a victory dinner with other people in the nationalist-populist realm, such as former Arizona Senate Candidate Kari Lake and British Member of Parliament Nigel Farage.

Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle were officially engaged in 2021, although this was not made public until 2022, HuffPost reported. They had reportedly been together since around 2018.

Guilfoyle was previously married to California’s incumbent Gov. Gavin Newsom, and served as San Francisco’s First Lady during his time as mayor. However, the couple divorced in 2006.

She remarried that same year to a businessman named Eric Villency. They divorced in 2009.
