The Department of Homeland Security has announced a $3,000 holiday incentive and free airfare home for illegal aliens who voluntarily leave the United States by December 31.
The special offer is available through the CBP Home app.
The temporary tripling of departure incentives represents an aggressive push to accelerate self-deportations before year’s end. DHS hopes the enhanced financial incentive will motivate more people to leave voluntarily rather than face forced removal.
“Since January 2025, 1.9 million illegal aliens have voluntarily self-deported and tens of thousands have used the CBP Home program,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “During the Christmas Season, the U.S. taxpayer is so generously TRIPLING the incentive to leave voluntarily for those in this country illegally- offering a $3,000 exit bonus, but just until the end of the year.”
Those who register through the CBP Home app will also receive forgiveness of civil fines or penalties for overstaying. The department frames the program as a humanitarian gesture during the holidays.
“Illegal aliens should take advantage of this gift and self-deport because if they don’t, we will find them, we will arrest them, and they will never return,” Noem added.
A poster advertising the limited-time offer states: “We’re checking names off our naughty list. don’t be the next name we find.”
The self-deportation process requires downloading the app and providing personal information. The DHS then arranges and pays for the person’s travel back to their home country.
The department emphasizes that this is a limited-time offer. After December 31, illegal aliens who haven’t taken advantage face arrest, deportation, and permanent bars from returning to the United States.
Since January, the administration has prioritized voluntary departures over forced removals. The holiday incentive marks the most generous offer yet in this ongoing campaign.
