Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D‑TX) used explicit language to describe President Donald Trump during a speech at the MoveOn “Won’t Back Down Tour” rally in Phoenix, urging Democrats to take a more aggressive approach against Republicans and the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Donald Trump is a piece of s***,” Crockett said. “We need to call it like it is and stop letting Republicans and the Supreme Court trample on our rights.”
A video of her remarks was widely shared on social media. One popular X post criticized Crockett’s tone and language, stating:

“But what are we going to need to do then?” she continued. “For me, it’s getting aggressive.”
Crockett also attacked the nation’s highest court:
“But in a functioning democracy, he still would not be able to get away with this. But he’s been able to get away with this because the House Republicans are complicit. He’s been able to get away with this because Senate Republicans are complicit. But most importantly, the courts — especially the Supreme Court — are complicit,” she said.
The MoveOn tour is designed to mobilize Democratic voters in Republican-held congressional districts ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, with Phoenix being one of several key stops.
Ongoing Controversies
Crockett’s remarks come just weeks after she withdrew her bid to become the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. She ended her campaign following an internal Steering Committee vote in which she placed last. Democrats ultimately chose Rep. Robert Garcia (D‑CA) for the role.
“It was clear by the numbers that my style of leadership is not exactly what they were looking for, and so I didn’t think that it was fair for me to then push forward,” Crockett said after stepping down from the race.
She retained her position as vice-ranking member on the committee.
Earlier this year, Crockett also sparked backlash for mocking Texas Gov. Greg Abbott — who uses a wheelchair — by referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels” during a Human Rights Campaign event in Los Angeles.
Rep. Randy Weber (R‑TX) responded by introducing a censure resolution, calling her remarks “disrespectful and unbecoming of a U.S. Congresswoman.”

Crockett later claimed the comment was aimed at Abbott’s immigration policies, not his disability.
