President Donald J. Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran on Sunday, declaring an end to what he is now calling “The 12 Day War.”

In a statement posted to Truth Social, President Trump wrote that both nations had agreed to a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE,” which will begin in approximately six hours after each side concludes their final missions. According to the statement, Iran will initiate the ceasefire, followed by Israel 12 hours later. After 24 hours, Trump said, the war will be officially over.

He congratulated both nations on having the “Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence” to bring the conflict to an end and praised the global significance of the peace effort. Trump concluded with blessings for Israel, Iran, the Middle East, the United States, and the world.

No official confirmation of the agreement has been released yet by either country, but if fulfilled as outlined, the ceasefire would bring a sudden end to a conflict that risked escalating into a broader regional war.
