A note attributed to former President Bill Clinton has surfaced in Jeffrey Epstein’s “birthday book,” newly released by the House Oversight Committee.

The GOP-led panel published the tranche of files late Monday after Epstein’s estate turned over materials under congressional subpoena. Among them was a tribute book compiled by Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell for his 50th birthday in January 2003.

The note, allegedly from Clinton, is difficult to decifer, and possibly reads, “It’s reassuring isn’t it, to have lasted as long, across all the years of learning and knowing, adventures and [illegible word], and also to have your childlike curiosity, the drive to make a difference and the solace of friends,” reported the Independent.

The Clinton reference appeared alongside other entries allegedly written by high-profile figures, including a sketch bearing Donald Trump’s signature that the President has denied authoring.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to the sketch on social media:

Clinton’s spokesperson, Angel Urena, has previously stated that the former President took “a total of four trips on Jeffrey Epstein’s airplane” between 2002 and 2003 on behalf of the Clinton Foundation, accompanied on each leg by staff, supporters, and Secret Service agents, according to the Independent.

Urena said Clinton visited Epstein’s New York office and apartment once in 2002 but had not spoken to Epstein “in well over a decade” before his death in 2019. Clinton’s spokesman denied that the former President ever visited Epstein’s residences in Florida, New Mexico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Dallas Express recently reported on FBI audio of Maxwell describing her interactions with Clinton. In a July 25 interview with agents, she said she never saw Clinton at Epstein’s properties or island, calling him “friendly on the plane” but adding, “I didn’t see President Clinton being interested in Epstein. He was just a rich guy with a plane.” She also called the well-known portrait of Clinton in a blue dress “hideous” and claimed she had never seen it inside Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer, Republican of Kentucky, said in a statement that Democrats had previously “cherry-picked documents” related to Trump while ignoring new files from Epstein’s estate. “Oversight Committee Republicans are focused on running a thorough investigation to bring transparency and accountability for survivors of Epstein’s heinous crimes and the American people,” Comer said via Fox News.

The materials released Monday also included Epstein’s will, address books, and details of his 2007–2008 non-prosecution agreement with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Southern Florida.

Images in the “birthday book” show Epstein as a child, as well as with women and friends, and include captions suggesting he “works for the CIA” or jokes about his sexual behavior.

The Independent reported that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify before the Oversight Committee on October 9, followed by Bill Clinton on October 14. Other witnesses this fall are expected to include former attorneys general and ex-FBI directors.

Neither Clinton nor Trump has charges of criminal wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Several self-identified victims and their families recently denied that either man had abused children in connection with Epstein’s human trafficking efforts, DX reported.
