Recently resurfaced declassified documents reveal the CIA used unusual means to attempt to locate one of the most iconic lost Judeo-Christian artifacts.
The intelligence outfit appeared to be attempting to find the Ark of the Covenant through remote viewing, also known as extrasensory perception (ESP).
The hidden container that Christians and Jews believe holds the Ten Commandments was observed by someone only recorded as “Viewer 032,” who said the vessel was surrounded by “entities” with mysterious powers, according to a document dated December 5, 1988.
Echoing parts of Exodus, Viewer 032 said, “… this container will not/cannot be opened until the time is deemed correct. Once it is time to open the container – the mechanics of the lock system will be found to be fairly simple.”
The psychic warned against striking or prying open the container before the appointed time, as those who commit such actions are “destroyed by the container’s protectors (see page 17) through the use of a power unknown to us.”
During an hour-and-a-half-long intelligence-gathering session on December 5, 1988, Viewer 032 detailed the target object: “Target is a container. This container has another container on the inside. The target is fashioned of wood, gold and silver, and is decorated with seraphim (see sketch pg. 16).”
However, the exact location of the ark, which theologians and historians heavily debated, remained murky. The documents only said it was “located somewhere in the Middle East as the language spoken by individuals present seemed to be Arabic.”
Descriptions of the surrounding area were similarly generic for the region.
“Visuals of surrounding buildings indicated the presence of Mosque Domes (?), (see page 12). Individuals in the area were clothed in virtually all white, had black hair and dark eyes — one figure I honed in on wore a moustache.”
Some of the hand-drawn illustrations the author referred to show there are several mummies, a tank, and an archway near the ark.
The CIA’s description resembles one in the Book of Exodus. The King James Bible describes the ark as about 2.5 cubits in length, 1.5 cubits wide and high, and overlayed with gold.
Exodus 25:18-20 indicates that God directed the Jews to cover the ark with cherubims: “And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat. And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof. And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.”
Other Biblical passages give similar descriptions of death as being the consequence of touching the ark. Bible passages at 2 Samuel 6:6-7 and 1 Chronicles 13:9-10 describe Uzzah, a Levite, being struck dead by God for touching the ark as it was being transported.
These files from Project Sun Streak were apparently declassified in 2000 but did not receive widespread media attention until recently. These documents appear to have no apparent connection to the thousands of files released by President Donald Trump’s administration that detail previously unknown aspects of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas in November 1963.
