Charlie Kirk, both in life and after his passing, continues to leave a lasting impact on millions who share his vision for a faith-driven America.
Kirk, a prominent political commentator and founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated on Wednesday during a public speaking event at Utah Valley University.
In a video recording highlighted in an Instagram post by Abednego Lufile, Kirk was asked by a man at a Turning Point event what he would tell him if he had just 30 seconds to live, adding, “I have 30 seconds left to live —I’m dying from a gunshot wound — what would you actually want to tell me if I have 30 seconds left to live?”
Kirk did not hesitate in his response:
“In 30 seconds, you’re about to meet eternal judgment, and there’s only one way that you can get bailed out of that, and it’s not all the good things you did or the moral scorecard. It’s whether or not you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.”
You can hear people cheering and saying “Amen” in the background.
Kirk continues…
“That’s the only thing that’s going to matter. And so, you’ve got 10 seconds left, you’re dying from a gunshot wound, and you ask the question, ‘Who is Jesus Christ?’ And the answer to that singular question — Who is Jesus Christ — is the most important question for everyone in the audience.
“Not how much money you have, how much good stuff you do: it is, who is Jesus Christ? You might say, ‘Oh, Jesus was, you know, a teller of good tales, or Jesus was a good person, or Jesus was a historical figure.’ None of that is going to cut it. It’s whether or not you repent and you ask Christ to come in as your Lord and Savior, that’s the only thing that will save you from eternal damnation.”
Kirk, 31, built Turning Point USA from the ground up, starting it in suburban Chicago at age 18 alongside William Montgomery. Over the years, he became one of the most prominent voices for young adults worldwide, championing freedom, personal responsibility, and patriotism.
Kirk’s focus remained on what he considered eternal truths, not meaningless accolades.
He reminded Americans that life’s most important question isn’t about wealth or accomplishments – it’s about faith.
In a world where public figures are remembered for fleeting fame or viral moments, Kirk wanted something more enduring.
Kirk was asked, “How would you want to be remembered?”
“I wanna be remembered for courage for my faith. That would be the most important thing — the most important thing is my faith,” responded Kirk.
On September 1, 2025, Kirk posted on X: “God, family, country. In that order.”
