Busch Light is celebrating the 19th annual release of its limited-edition Hunting Cans with a bold challenge: one fan aged 21 or older will win enough beer money to keep their fridge stocked for 19 years by legally changing their name to Hunter, a name the brand says has declined 93% in popularity over the past five years.

From now through October 13, fans can enter the #BecomeAHunter sweepstakes by posting on X, Facebook, or Instagram with the hashtags #BecomeAHunter and #Sweepstakes, declaring their willingness to adopt the name. The winner will receive funds to cover legal name change fees and a cash prize to buy Busch Light Hunting Cans for nearly two decades of hunting season celebrations.

“At Busch Light, we know hunters are dedicated, passionate, and always up for the thrill of the chase,” said Krystyn Stowe, head of marketing for Busch Family & Natural Family at Anheuser-Busch. “We’re celebrating our shared love for the great outdoors with not only new Busch Light Hunting Cans, but also a hunt for fans who’d honor the sport by changing their name.”

Busch Light, currently the second-fastest growing beer brand in the U.S., is the top-selling beer in hunting-heavy states like Arkansas, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, according to the company.

The brand is also hosting a massive gathering for hunting enthusiasts on November 16 in Appleton, Wisconsin, a hub for hunters. The event, open to those named Hunter, those considering the name change, people who are hunting enthusiasts, or simply fans of Busch Light, will feature the brand’s mascot, the Busch Guy, along with games, merchandise giveaways, and plenty of ice-cold Hunting Cans.

Fans aged 21 and older can RSVP through October 27 at www.busch.com/HunterGathering, with venue details revealed only to selected attendees. Two hundred tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but unfortunately, residents from Texas, as well as Alabama, Arkansas, California, Maryland, and West Virginia are excluded from the Gathering of Hunters event due to legal requirements.

Since 2006, Busch Light has released collectible Hunting Cans annually, and this year marks its fifth partnership with Ducks Unlimited, donating $50,000 to support wetland conservation. Additionally, 500 rare Blaze Orange Trophy cans hidden in packs nationwide offer a chance to win a five-day whitetail deer rifle hunt in Missouri with the Keefer Brothers, including airfare and lodging. The Hunting Cans hit retailers nationwide on September 29 and are available while supplies last.

No purchase is required to enter the drawing for the hunting trip. Alternate methods of entry are available on the company’s website.
