President Joe Biden is scheduled to participate in a couple of high-end campaign fundraisers hosted by wealthy financial executives in New York City next week.

News of the events was first reported by CNBC, which obtained a memo sent to donors by Biden’s campaign.

The first fundraising stop is scheduled for May 10 and will be hosted by former Blackstone executive and Democratic donor Hamilton “Tony” James at his apartment on Fifth Avenue. Admittance will cost $25,000 per head, and U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is expected to attend, according to the memo.

James was appointed to Biden’s Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board in early March, Homeland Security Today reported.

Biden’s stop at James’ high-end residence marks his first bid to raise money for his campaign in New York City since he announced he would seek a second term in office last month.

His campaign scheduled the event for the day after the president is slated to sit down with Republican leaders Sen. Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy to negotiate over possibly raising the debt ceiling, NBC News reported.

The next fundraising event will be a dinner at international shipping tycoon George Logothetis’ home on the Upper East Side. Logothetis is currently the executive chairman of the global business company Libra Group.

If Biden’s 2024 campaign will be anything like his effort in 2020, big-dollar donations from financial executives will play a critical role, as that donor type contributed over $74 million on his behalf, NBC 5 reported.

While Biden might be well positioned in terms of marshaling wealthy donors, there seems to be markedly less enthusiasm among many Democrat voters, according to a CBS News poll conducted just before his reelection announcement.

Only 22% of respondents were “excited” about the prospect of Biden running again. Some 27% said they were “nervous,” and 28% felt “confident” in the bid. However, a majority (54%) indicated they were simply “accepting” of the proposition.
