President Joe Biden’s approval rating is near its lowest point, according to a new poll.

The survey, conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that only 38% of Americans approve of Biden’s administration. His approval rating reached an all-time low of 36% last July.

In January and February, similar polls measured Biden’s approval rating as 41% and 45%, respectively.

When broken down by party affiliation, the poll found that 96% of Republicans disapprove of the Biden administration, while 23% of Democrats disapprove.

“Everyday Joe Biden and his handlers confirm they are the worst administration in modern history,” Roger Shafer, senior advisor for the Dallas Young Republicans, told The Dallas Express. “They don’t have a single policy that represents the majority of Americans.”

During individual interviews, poll respondents conveyed mixed feelings about the current administration, but people from both sides of the political aisle expressed disappointment in Biden’s handling of the economy.

Michigan Republican Michael McComas described the president as “not great” and “average,” adding that he thinks the ongoing inflation is a consequence of excessive government spending.

“We poured so much money into the system,” said McComas, per The Associated Press. “That’s a little frustrating that we were shocked that we got hit by inflation when a lot of our policies were inflationary.”

However, it is not only Republicans who take issue with the way Biden has managed the country.

Theresa Ojuro, a 29-year-old doctoral student who voted for Biden in 2020, said she “expected more” from the president.

“Just a little bit more stability with the economy,” the New York resident specified, as reported by AP News. “If Biden is doing his job, why in a state like this can you see people really suffering?”

Some Americans still maintain a relatively positive perspective on the president. Self-identified liberal Andrew Dwyer, a Milwaukee data analyst who also voted for Biden in 2020, said his view of Biden is “neutral towards approve.”

Dwyer, 30, said he thinks the recent economic turbulence is a result of the economy adjusting to the higher interest rates instituted to counter inflation.

“We all got so used to cheap debt and the ability to throw money around,” he explained, per AP News.

Dwyer said he thinks this will “ultimately” improve the economy but acknowledged that greater borrowing costs have caused “pain points” throughout the economy.
