Betty White is poised to spread happiness to people across America again, but this time not via television but through postal deliveries.
The U.S. Postal Service will pay tribute to the cherished TV legend with a special stamp.
This stamp, announced on Friday, is part of the postal service’s 2025 lineup.
“This early glimpse into our 2025 stamp program demonstrates our commitment to providing a diverse range of subjects and designs for both philatelists and stamp enthusiasts,” said Lisa Bobb-Semple, Stamp Services director for USPS, in a press release.
Aging positively impacted White’s professional journey. She landed her part as Sue Ann Nivens in The Mary Tyler Moore Show when she was 51 years old. From ages 63 to 70, she starred as innocent Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls. She continued working after that, participating in TV shows, sitcoms, films, advertisements, and live appearances, per NPR.
White passed away at the age of 99 at her residence in Los Angeles, California, on December 31, 2021. Her death came just a few days before what would have been her 100th birthday. The cause was determined to be a cerebrovascular accident, commonly referred to as a stroke, which she had suffered six days prior to her passing, reported Washington 4.
“It’s your outlook on life that counts,” Betty White once said, reported The Dallas Express. “If you take yourself lightly and don’t take yourself too seriously, pretty soon you can find the humor in our everyday lives. And sometimes it can be a lifesaver.”
Other 2025 stamps in the U.S. Postal Service’s lineup will include the 1794 Compass Rose, Lunar New Year: Year of the Snake, Love, Black Heritage: Allen Toussaint, American Vistas, The Appalachian Trail, Vibrant Leaves, Dahlias, Schooner, Luna Moth, Baby Wild Animals, Winter Landscapes, and the U.S. Flag.
