Americans now see the government as the top problem facing the country, according to a new survey.

The poll, released by Gallup on Monday, found that 21% of Americans think the government is “the most important problem facing this country today.” The survey’s field period ran from January 2 to 22.

Coming in second place, 15% of respondents saw inflation as the top problem. In third and fourth place were immigration (11%) and the economy (10%), respectively.

Gallup also broke down the poll results by party affiliation.

“The government ranks as the top problem for both Republicans and Republican-leaning independents (24%) and Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (18%),” Gallup explained. “Inflation and immigration are each cited by 18% of Republicans, while mentions of inflation (11%), the economy in general, and race relations (9% each) trail the government among Democrats.”

The poll also found that issues including the environment, race relations, and unifying the country are more likely to be viewed as top problems by Democrats than by Republicans.

Only 21% of Americans approve of Congress’ performance, while 41% approve of President Joe Biden’s performance.

The survey also found that Americans have an overwhelmingly negative view of the economy.

“More than four in five U.S. adults rate economic conditions in the country as only fair (38%) or poor (45%), with few describing conditions as excellent (2%) or good (15%),” Gallup explained. “Furthermore, 72% of Americans say the economy is getting worse, 22% say it is improving, and 4% think it is staying the same.”

While most Americans have a negative view of the economy in general, most respondents did see one positive element — the job market.

The poll found that “64% of Americans say it is a good time to find a quality job in the U.S., which is statistically unchanged from last month but eight points lower than the January 2022 reading.”

Responding to this poll, James Quintero, policy director at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, told The Dallas Express, “Government today costs too much and interferes too often. It looks nothing like what the Framers of the U.S. Constitution originally intended.”

“Across the nation, Americans are voting with their feet and moving to states that espouse low taxes and limited government, like Texas and Florida,” he continued. “That’s a clear sign of what the public wants and where public policy should be headed nationwide.”

“I believe this poll shows just a small percentage of how most Americans feel, with a vast majority wanting less government interference, as they are the root of most of our problems,” added Harrison Moore, director of programming for the Dallas Young Republicans. “However, this poll does show a direct correlation of the continued failures of the Biden administration and their inability to relate to the average American.”

“race relations, and unifying the country are more likely to be viewed as top problems by Democrats”
Seems to me that the republicans pretty much got past racism a LONG time ago. They really do not care about the color of skin, but about one’s abilities, actions and words.

It also seems to me that the Dems do not want to Unify the Country at all. All the Schisms in society seem to be to the benefit and ideology of the Dems. It literally took busloads of illegal aliens being shipped to NY and other places for their Dem Mayors and Representatives to come out and say that ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is NOT Sustainable. Something that Republicans have said all along.Yet the Dem Leadership will not end illegal immigration. The immigrants themselves have shown that when told not to come their numbers severely diminish.

The Dems passed trillions in all kinds of insane money distribution schemes in the first two years of Biden. They directly caused inflation by doing so, including their schemes to raise minimum wage (directly related to inflation as well).

Maybe the ills of this country are not Racism and NOT financial, but in fact are Party related?

Gov seems to be the problem but almost half think Biden is doing a good job. The spending the gov has brought us the main reason for the inflation. Bringing in millions of illegals and supporting them with tax dollars is another hit on inflation. You better believe that they are not only being taken care of by tax dollars, you can bet they are handed cash also. Biden approval rate is 41%, even though every bad Economic indicator started at the beginning of his firsts term For some reason the surveyed think the job market is good even though many major corporations are laying off. Democrats think the government is not doing enough to help people and republicans know that the government is too big and helps no one. That’s why the government surveyed so low but Biden surveyed high. Most of these surveyed issues are all democrats fault and some republicans fault. Change the narrative to democrats being the problem, not Biden. If someone would survey people with good questions then we can really see what the people believe. How can Biden be perceived as he is with the wet things are at the moment. Hold on to your hats later this year when unemployment rates skyrocket bc they are the last to go in a sinking economy.

This story is not “news” at all. American-born U.S. citizens have been saying for DECADES that the government is too big, has too much power, and over-regulates too many aspects of our daily lives. This has been the cornerstone of the Republican Party’s platform for generations now. Republicans want to shrink government, while Democrats only want to continue increasing the size of government and giving government agencies more power to encroach upon our privacy and personal freedoms. Start by abolishing the IRS!

Citizen polls reflect what the public is generally aware of and that awareness is being erratically diffused by the info war being waged upon individual perceptions by corporate media versus alternative news sources.

Government distrust would be greater in our area if, for example, our local media had reported on:
    (1) the Fort Worth federal case where the FDA tried to hide Pfizer “vaccine” trial official reports for 75 years and the judge overruled them and ordered an expedited release of those materials. That expedited release resulted in the formulation of a 3500 member volunteer team to examine and report on the findings as they are released (the DailyClout.io team). The team has published their first book on their continuing efforts, entitled the Pfizer Documents Volunteers’ Analysis eBook. That ebook is currently an Amazon best seller.
    (2) the Brook Jackson Pfizer whistleblower case originating as a result of Pfizer “vaccine” trials conducted out of the Fort Worth medical district. This federal whistleblower trial is being conducted in Waco and has provided the revelations of (a) Pfizer claiming they are immune from fraudulent drug trial liabilities because the contract they signed with the federal government did not require them to produce a functioning vaccine and (b) the federal government weighing in and agreeing with (a) above.

Both of these locally relevant stories have been reported on by alternative news sources and have, as far as I can tell, been embargoed by local outlets.

Since inflation, lack of immigration control, and the economy are all government created problems, the first number should be 57% (21%+15%+11%+10%) of Americans think government is the problem.
